The 2019 LSU National Championship team remains the benchmark against which other teams compare themselves.

During the NFL Combine last week, former LSU passing game coordinator and new Buffalo Bills head coach Joe Brady was asked who would win: the 2019 Tigers or this recent Indiana team?

His answer was straight to the point:
quote:

"It's not even close, not even close, not even close," Brady kept repeating. "I felt like whoever we played in 2019, we were going to roll the ball out, and let's go. So I'm always going to be a little biased to '19."

Watch Brady discuss the 2019 team at the 7:10 mark below.

There was about 4 or 5 teams in 2019 that would wipe the floor with indiana alone.

Correct. It’s not just about LSU. Teams were better. Depth was better. Quality of play was better. I do t care if you’re the best of a bunch of watered down teams. This is an inferior era football now

People dont realize bama and clemson were still juggernauts. Georgia was really good, and auburn might have been able to win too. I cant say oklahoma though, not when we gave them the worst beat down in playoff history.

The only reason this is being considered is because Indiana went undefeated. No one looks at the actual schedule played, the insane numbers that Burrow put up, the insane number of catches and TDs Chase, Jefferson, Marshall put up, the absolute NFL play calling from Brady/Ensminger and the sheer number of players off of that roster that went to the NFL. This is a stupid question and it doesn't mean disrespect for what IU accomplished. Would Indiana have beaten. Clemson, @Alabama, @Texas, Georgia in Atlanta, or Auburn with that insane dline?

No Indiana would lose to all of them

If anything, comparing’19 LSU to the ‘01 Hurricanes is more equivalent. Problem is too many people are too young to really grasp just how loaded and dominant that Canes team actually was.

Indiana had issues with Miami and what was their ranking? We bet 29-0 defending National Champions Clemson 42-25 outscoring them 35-8 after they had a 17-7 lead against us. Our speed on offense and defense was something Indiana never faced that entire season, so could y'all please stop comparing.

He is correct biased or not. Nothing compares and that 2019 team would beat any team from any time frame in history.
