LSU offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger along with running back coach and recruiting coordinator Tommie Robinson visited four-star dual-threat quarterback commit Peter Parrish in Phenix City, AL on Thursday.

Both coaches were able to see Parrish in action during his practice as he and his Central HS teammates prepare for their state championship game this upcoming Wednesday night vs. Thompson HS.

In that game, which will be played at 7 p.m. at Auburn's Jordan-Hare Stadium, Parrish will go up against Thompson quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa who is committed to Alabama. Tagovailoa visited LSU during the Alabama game on Nov. 3.

Parrish is rated the No. 10 dual-threat quarterback in the country and the No. 10 overall player from the state of Alabama for the class of 2019, according to ESPN.

He has been committed to LSU since the day he was first offered a scholarship during the Tigers Elite Camp back in June.

This young man is going to be special. There are different types of runners, we need different types of quarterbacks. Parrish is going to be a real 'get' when it's all said and done. especially when he wins the championship tomorrow.

My head hurts from trying to discern that title...are you saying there is a QB who is commited to Peter Parish?

If Burrow had not been a RPO Dual-Threat QB the season would have been different. He was a key factor vs GA with 2 Rushing TDs added to Tracy's 5 FGS, and that TAMU game would not have turned to be so historic. He was the leading Rusher and scored 3 Rushing TDs and had 3 Passing TDs. The OL problems have always been there, worse with Pro -Style QBs. SEC Smashmouth wears out the Big Guys and when their tank is empty they are done. Also, if you do not utilize Catapult-GPS to reduce the biggest cause of injury - over training - then the high injury rates of the past will continue. Mett's career was limited because he was an immobile Pro-Style guy and the LSU Run-Blocking O-Line was bad at pass protection. Landry and Beckham said they just could not keep him upright. His last series vs ALA was 4 consecutive sacks with him crawling off the field with a blown ACL.

I am still 100% confused as to what type of QB we want running the offense. 2019 Parrish is a dual threat style 2020 Johnson and the Pontchatoula kid are - Pro Style pocket passers One year it’s dual the next it’s pro style...what the hell do we want to run?

What difference does it make? You rather limit your offense to one type of QB? Teams all across the country recruit both types of QBs. Bama has a commitment from Paul Tyson (Pocket) and Tualia (Dual) UGA has Fromm (pocket) and Fields (dual) Clemson had Bryant (dual) and now have Lawrence (pocket) etc...

Is it just me or does anyone else get the feeling that this guy might be special here at LSU and the type of QB we've never had playing for us but our defense trying to defend this type of guy. Isn't this the exact type of QB that our offense needs and can take to another level with? Sure he'll need to grow and become his own in his own offense while here but with this type of guy, Esminger can simplify things for everyone. He's the type that can get into a rhythm and be a terror for defense's especially with LSU OL, RB, WR and TE talent. Put up 30 to 40 points a game and I think our defense could easily win that type of game. Especially if LSU is able to add quality depth at DL, LB, and DB to have a two man rotation. At the very least have a quality DL rotation. That's what LSU needs to do. If we score fast be able to put a second team out there who is fresh but has zero drop off. That's why it's so darn important to land some quality guys this year even if they are just good against the run or great at rushing the passer. Play our younger 2020 guys with the older 2019 guys coming in to rotate for them when they get tired. As long as they are efficient at run stopping or pass rushing. We can mix and match the others and have our OLB great at pass rushing. Boom we have a great team. Gotta get some good DLman in 2019!!! It's imperative IMO.
