Four-star offensive tackle Bryson Cooley from Laurel, Miss., announced his commitment to LSU on Friday.

Cooley, a 6-7, 315-pound prospect from West Jones High School, picked the Tigers over offers from Alabama, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Georgia, and many others.

Cooley is rated the No. 26 offensive tackle in the country for the class of 2026, according to 247Sports.

His commitment gives the Tigers 14 verbal commitments for the 2026 class.

Games are won and lost in the trenches! Fill up the trenches with 6’4” 300 pounders that can run and there is nothing the opponent can do to stop us!

Stack talent on both the OL and DL with a solid QB and the rest will fall into place. A great OL can make any WR look good because the QB has time to male a good throw. Same with the DL. They can make DBs look better than they really are.

2 big boys from Mississippi the last couple of days.Standby for the Ole Miss Collective to start throwing cash. I hope the kid sticks but this day and age I just don’t have the recruiting enthusiasm anymore.

This says as much about coaching and player development than it does staying power. There's growth in the understanding of what this coaching staff brings to the table. All positive and it will grow more and more as time and positive consistency is shown on the field.

I read the distrust and anger about NIL and the portal here. But I've grown to embrace it as the new part of the competition. If we're able to keep enough good players and develop them, then we win the competition. This is capitalism at its finest folks. If LSU is the best at what they do they will be rewarded just like in all the other championship years. Until then, enjoy the ride.

Free market for sure but LSU doesn’t have the capital or wealth to compete with many that are in Sates with far more resources. You have to pick what you fund and it’s only gonna get worse.Texas, the Butteyes, aTm and others make LSU capabilities look like a little league team.

Didn't someone post a few months ago that we were in the top 5 of NIL utilized colleges? There was always a lot of hidden money before last couple of years. 99.9% of us wouldn't have guessed that we were a top 5 or 10 NIL college

This idea that LSU don't have high dollar booster is overblown and worn out.

Wish I could say I cared. I miss the Russell Shepard and LF recruiting days. When they committed, you knew they were locks.

Only to end up in the portal after not starting his freshman year, unless Gordon McKernan is paying him a solid 6 figure annual deal.
