Talented four-star defensive back Major Burns from Baton Rouge announced Thursday afternoon that he has committed to LSU.

Burns went public with his commitment with this emotional video dedicated to his Father:

Burns, a 6-2, 180-pound prospect from Madison Prep Academy was originally committed to Texas A&M but reopened his recruitment in March.

He rated the No. 7 cornerback in the country and the No. 4 overall player from the state of Louisiana for the class of 2020, according to ESPN. The Tigers now have 16 verbal commits for the class of 2020, with the addition on Burns.

Love seeing the next generation of young men have some mentorship on how to be a man from strong fathers. This dude is proof and I have a feeling he’ll have a lot of success. Geaux Tigers.

Somehow I doubt we will be seeing a "respect my decision" post from him. Thanks kid, for being a Tiger and pushing me as a dad. I just(two hours ago) committed to coaching my kid's "travel ball" team again even though I gave up earning potential, time, and a crazy amount of effort with very little appreciation last year. I halfway regretted the decision already, but your video put the fire back in me. My son wants no other coach, and I want to be there for him. Your vid shows me that you kids do appreciate what we do, and the sacrifice is worth it. Thanks for being a Tiger, and keep up the work. It will pay off.

I look at my 2 boys now after watching this video and yes I am crying at 47 years old! That man did his job and his kids are proof! I can only hope to be the same with my boys.

The most sincere, selfless commitment video I’ve ever seen. It’ll be an honor having this young man in purple and gold.

Son, as a Father myself you put tears in my eyes. God has a plan for you and LSU aside, you follow His guidance and you will be more than successful. I know your Father is proud of you. God bless you young man.
