Elite five-star wide receiver Easton Royal is in Baton Rouge for an official visit to LSU.

The New Orleans native is currently committed to Texas, but remains a top priority for Lane Kiffin and LSU.

Royal, a 5-11, 190-pound wideout from Brother Martin, is rated the No. 1 player in the state and considered one of the top wide receivers in the country for the class of 2027.

Royal gave Texas his verbal pledge back in November over LSU, Ole Miss, and Oregon.

There was no $22 million to Manning and he probably would have gone there free, because he is a Manning, who value training more than money.

Arch Manning leaving Texas will make recruiting easier for LSU. Texas tell people it took $22 million to get Manning there. It is believable, because of the Mannjng hype and legacy. So, kids commit with a little financial commitment to them and a whole lot of promise. Committing to them creates a lot of bargaining leverage. That is the challenge. Sometimes, kids will take egg in the face with less money to pretend they fat a better deal elsewhere, even though that’s. It where their heart is. I hope the kid is true to his heart and he will let LSU know what it takes to get him there.

Now why would you wanna run off and give a verbal pledge to Texas , makes no sense now that BK’s gone

He corrected a reporter on X about a qoute that basically said why not commit to LSU, it’s home. Until I saw that I liked our chances of the flip. Not so sure anymore.

So in NFL History only 6 Rookie Receivers have had 1200+ Receiving Yards and 7+ Receiving TDs... 5 are from LSU.

Come to "THE WRU" young man!

Seeing everyone through up the “L” in the correct direction makes me think that’s Brian Kelly’s biggest contribution to the program.

These are high school kids having fun. Everyone knows that the word commitment does not really apply to recruiting. It should just be called what it is, a verbal pledge. A verbal pledge that was made "at the time" and doesn't mean much. Signing on the dotted line, that is what matters
Until then let them have their fun and quit your bitchin

Well money in NIL gets the signature, but with the Transfer Portal not even the signature means much, because if they're not starting or getting significant playing time they just jump ship. College sports are in a whole new world.

I remember back in the day on the recruiting sites that if it said "strong verbal" next to their team, it was as good as a signature.
