Brian Kelly and the LSU coaching staff landed a big-time commitment on Friday morning four-star quarterback Colin Hurley.

The 6-1, 215-pound quarterback from Jacksonville, Florida (Trinity Christian Academy) was the No. 2 quarterback in the 2025 class but reclassified to the 2024 class.

Hurley received his offer from LSU quarterback coach Joe Sloan in May of 2022. He is LSU's sixth verbal commitment for the class of 2024.

For more info on Hurley, visit his profile page on our 2024 recruiting tracker.

I love it. He is in 24 class. Many months to go before we see him in uniform.

Here's more on this kid. He speaks really well, seems smart...kinda like he's been home-schooled or something.

This is where LSU struggles. Simply don’t have the resources of many of the big dogs in the recruiting wars.

Nonsense! Howard competes for the starting role in '23, and is the starter in '24 and maybe '25, and this kid (or whoever beats him out) is right behind.

Again I say Elite recruiting by BK. ‘ 23 & ‘24 recruiting is absolutely out of this world. No doubt LSU will challenge every year for SEC and Nat’l Championships

To reclassify...what, do you pile on more classes each year in high school to get out early?

I’m curious about this as well.

Yeah, can any student "reclassify"? Can a college instigate this, I wonder?

Students take online classes to graduate early. I see it a lot now-a-days, not just with athletes.
