shouldn't it be "respect my INdecision" instead of "respect my decision" ? I really don't worry too much about HS kid's decision making. I worry more about the college coach's recruiting strategy. I hope Oregeron has a plan that works better than Surtain Jr.'s back stabbing a year ago. Bama likes to have recruits string schools along until signing day then suddenly the magical flip from their "dream school" to be a groupie at Ala "business decision" Bama... At least he didn't do that, and for that I respect his indecision.

I once knew this guy. He was a small guy. Skeletal and muscular disorder affecting his pectoral and upper torso areas. He was physically underdeveloped. And his growth was stunted. He weighed 95 pounds soaking wet. Then, one day as he was riding with someone to town, the car he was in got in a wreck with a log truck. Log went right through him, the poor guy. I came up on the scene soon after and found the wreckage. As I saw him there peacefully passed on, a gaping hole from his collarbone to his belly, I thought, "Well, at least he's got more chest than Marcus Banks." LSU does the unthinkable to number two and your first reaction is to reopen your recruitment? Weak.

WE have commits from the #1 and #14 CB commits and the #2 JUCO CB for 2019. This kid is the #29 HS CB. LSU is also younger in terms of existing players. Probably figures the field will be crowded for him play right away. Much better shot to play at A&M in my opinion. Would like to keep him but he is probably the 4* I'm most willing to lose.

and then suddenly, BAM...he commits to Bama and gets that 5th star. ain't that magical?

In the end, it will still be (most likely) LSU. No one is inviting him to visits since he is committed to LSU. He decommitted so he could get to enjoy some visits to other universities and all that comes with it (free games, dinners, etc.) Once he has had his fun, he'll recommit to LSU. Unless another team completely blows him away or lines his pockets...

“Please respect my decision.” I would respect it more if you didn’t say this.

These kids are so self absorbed they truly think they are important. They really don't think they can be replaced by other players equally or more talented than they are.

If you want people to respect your decision, respect your own decision. You decided to commit to LSU. Do it, then. Don't back out and ask for respect again, while (potentially) misusing a common phrase in the process. Get your shite straight... then you won't have to ask for respect.

Exactly. “Yeah, I broke my commitment but I need you to respect that”... what does this even mean? It’s baffling that so many kids say this. How about just refrain from commiting until signing day?

Until they put on a uniform on a college field you don’t know what they may turn out to be.... some you’ve never heard of become stars.... some you’ve heard of never see the field... in high school you may have 5 star players on a team...in college everyone is a star player... so until they play a down in college it’s all just speculation....

Highly highly unlikely you have a 5 star on a hs team. In college , less that 1% of players are 5 star. Obviously it’s speculation. 5 stars are more likely to be legit - that’s the nature of scouting. Mostly though, how is this relevant ?
