Update: Ricks has reclassified to the 2023 class.

Elite 2024 five-star cornerback Desmond Ricks will be making a trip to Baton Rouge this weekend to visit LSU for the Mississippi State game.

Ricks, a 6-2, 185-pound prospect from IMG Academy is rated the No. 1 cornerback in the country and the No. 2 overall player for the class of 2024, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

Ricks received his offer from the previous LSU coaching staff back in 2021. The Tigers currently have five players committed for the class of 2024.

It's so easy for these prized recruits to choose a team already loaded with talent and heavy favorites to compete for a national title! How about being the cog that helps build the team instead of a cog in an already well oiled machine? Come to LSU and have many picks, young Tiger prospect Ricks!

Meh, If it worked that way then Bama basketball wouldn't lose homegrown future NBA star players like Demarcus Cousins and Eric Bledsoe to Kentucky and Antonio Lang to Duke.

I always wondered/hoped that the LSU pitch would be something like: Don't join the evil empire, come to LSU and help destroy the evil empire!

Ultimately if he chooses Florida State over the SEC and or LSU its on him. There is no comparison in talent he will face in the SEC or NFL like attendance and atmosphere he will see say in Tiger Stadium vs Doak.

Yep I bet he'd at least be 2nd string at Bama right now rather than 3rd.
