I'm happy right where LSU is ranked. Johnny Jones teams never knew what it meant to be near NIT level for years.

Please...NO! Extra burden we don't need. The truth will come out by March anyway.

Love to hear praise from him, but let's not let him sucker us in.I wanna beat UT badly! Still, all in all, he's a good coach and has really made something out of UT's basketball team. I hope we can compete with them. They look every bit as good as our 1981 team.

He might be gaslighting, but name 10 teams playing better than LSU right now. This is a very young team that is still getting better.

“gaslighting.” Derived from the 1944 movie “Gaslight” starring Ingrid Bergman and Charles Boyer, the term means not just lying to someone’s face but also persuading them that they don’t see what you both plainly do. It’s a bit like the Jedi Mind Trick, but gaslighting comes with a special implication: that the target is not merely deceived but also driven mad by the deception.

Didn’t he just basically say LSU shouldn't have gotten that call and KY got screwed?

What's that got to do with it?

Did someone ask him? If so..I’m not sure what he’s supposed to say with them playing us soon. He has to show us respect...it’s what every good coach would do. Who wants to come close to giving locker room material for another team?

We will be top ten after LSU beats you F'N arse.

Taking a page out of the Nick Saban handbook....Talk up the team you're about to play so if you win it looks better and if you lose it doesn't look as bad.

Lou Holtz made a living and was obnoxious in talking up the competition. Personally, I'd like to stay in that 11-14 range. A few years back, no one saw Villanova coming.

Until the UK game LSU hasn't really shown they can beat top tier ranked teams. Also, this is just the UT coach trying to make the matchup look better for his team. LSU would likely have been top 15 had they not last to Arkansas, and likely will be in the top 15 if they are competitive with UT. Might be top 10 with a win (beating #5 and #1 in the same week would be insane).

FYI, LSU doesn't play UK (#5) and UT (#1) in the same week.

We don't play UT until Feb. 23rd. We were 5-2 in Q1 games before UK, so yes we had proven we could be top tier teams.

Ah, yeah. That's Saturday after next. Reading is hard. Should go into that game top 15 for sure, then after rankings come out.

loss to Arky and several games down double digits didn't help. Getting better with every game though and should finish strong heading into March.

nobody who votes has a clue LSU was down double digits in any game. they look at fuggin box scores. Its lazy

Based on what WW said about not taking things for granted after the Arkansas loss makes me think we may have a dropped a different game had we won that one. They seem a little more focused now even though the games stay close.

Coach Barnes is a smart man. This is going to be a great game.
