LSU senior forward Mwani Wilkinson entered his name into the NCAA Transfer portal over the weekend, according to multiple reports.

The former four-star recruit from Las Vegas, Nevada, committed to LSU and former head coach Will Wade in 2020. He entered the transfer portal in 2022 after Wade was fired but decided to stay at LSU and play under Matt McMahon.

He played in 12 games with nine starts in 2022 before a shoulder injury ended his season. He had surgery in January of 2023.

Wilkinson played in 27 games, including four starts, and averaged just 2.1 points and 1.0 rebounds this past season.

Helluva player. Always liked him. Matt McMahon is on the hot seat next year.

I’ve always liked him and willing to acknowledge that he’s struggled because of injuries. But let’s not act like he’s something that he isn’t. He plays on the wing and we have post players that dribble better than him. He never added the ability to get to the basket.

Thank you, Mwani. Nothing but respect to this young man.

Always liked his play, not sure why he didn’t see the floor more this year?

Not a good ROI for Will Wade’s wife.
