I agree that Johnny Jones is a fine man. I think I'm a fine man also... but I shouldn't be coaching the team either.

Don't sell yourself short. You likely couldn't do any worse.

Note the glaring absence of anything about Johnny's coaching acumen.

Right. No where in there does he say JJ shouldn't have been fired - he just says he is saddened by it. I agree Jones has always represented LSU well on a personal level and wish him the best.

Except for when him and JJ did the illegal stuff with Lester Earl right?

Why is everyone so upset by this. This is America! Freedom of speech, you know? I think most of you are losing sight of the fact that Jones has been fired! Dale isn't saying that was a bad move by LSU. Just showing support for his protoge. Relax, we're still getting a new coach!

Everyone has freedom of speech also not just Dale Brown. It goes both ways.

Yes, he is a fine man and so is Les Miles. Unfortunately, in today's world of big time college athletics, winning carries more weight than anything else. I wanted JJ to succeed. He was on staff when I was in school but you gotta win. When you make the $$$ these coaches are getting, you had better produce a winning product plain and simple. Best of luck to JJ!

Breaking news: if you coach at north Texas for 10+ years and no other team wants you, then you are a crappy coach. Has nothing to do with the integrity of his person. Good guy, shitty coach

Dale needs to stay away from this coaching search.

Very classy move for Dale to release this message of support for JJ at this point...it is all too easy to just pile on when a coach has to be fired and he stepped away from the mob and said what he felt. Hats off to him...

Actually, this is what's wrong with our basketball program. He thinks he has to have input on everything.

What does any of what Dale said have to do with Johnny not being able to coach worth a darn?

Who is more intelligent: Dale or Skip?

Dale Who? If Dale cared half as much for Tiger Basketball as he does for DALE..He would get out of the way and let the LSU Tiger basketball program rebuild. But i know a lot of ignorant rich people care what Dale thinks. So don't look for much improvement in the program until the money bags have had enough of losing.

Hire Daddy Dale. He knows what it takes to be a winner.

We have fired you once Dale, we really don't need any further input from you at this point especially if you did not speak like this on any other coaches after you were fired.
