Former LSU Baseball player Josh Pearson sent out the following message on social media on Tuesday to say farewell to the Tigers.
quote:

I thank God every day for blessing me with the opportunity to be a Tiger. I grew up praying that one day I would be able to put on that LSU uniform and go represent the state of Louisiana. I will continue to thank the Lord for the countless blessings he has given me and will continue to give me!

Thank you to my mom and dad for the long drives and late nights. You guys gave me everything I could've ever asked for. I have been very blessed to have such great role models around me every step of the way. I love y'all!

To my siblings and Bailey, you guys have always pushed me to be my best. No matter what it is in life, y'all made sure I gave it 100% and left nothing on the table. I love y'all!

I'm going to miss all the time spent in the locker room with my teammates. Showing up a few hours early just to sit around and hang out will always be some of my favorite times at LSU. The long fall break days, to the plane rides back at the end of the season. You guys have a brother for life; if you ever need me, I'm there.

Thank you to the coaches! Every day putting in work to make sure this team and state were well-represented. There was never a time that you guys weren't giving it 100%.

Tiger fans, thank you all so much for making these past 4 years the best of my life. From sticking it out through the long rain delays to buying all the Jell-O in Omaha, you guys always made it so easy to go out there and compete. I could've never imagined that I'd be leaving LSU as a two-time National Champion!

I'm excited and looking forward to the next chapter of my life, whatever that may be!

not exactly your prototypical SEC four hitter at 5’10” but this kid has the clutch gene and always came through when it mattered most. that said, I will always remember JP for that jaw-dropping over the shoulder catch he made in the 11th inning against Florida in Game 1 of the 2023 Championship Series preserving a 3-3 tie … and the rest is history

Will be one of my favorite Tigers of all-time...just a good ole West Monroe boy who may have been able to be a running back here at LSU if he had gone that route!

This kid is exactly what you want LSU to look like to other teams. He knew his role and took advantage of his opportunities and when he wasn't playing he was the best teammate. All the best and thanks JP!

The kind of Tiger you loved watching and pulling for and he will always be one of my favorites. Best of luck Mr. Pearson as you pursue whatever comes next.

Also, CJJ always has the perfect reply.

Dude always kept his head up and did what the team needed when called upon. What a well raised guy and a key part of our 2023 Championship run. Josh stopped by and talked to my daughter multiple times after rain delay games and made her night. Thank you for being the person and player you are. Forever LSU!!

Thank you for all you did for LSU baseball! I’ll never forget ‘THE CATCH’ that saved us the championship in ‘23. Best Wishes.

Not that there is a lack of them, but the way he played, made plays happen in the field and at the plate, and composed himself out there made ME proud to be an LSU Tiger. I hated to see him strike out in his last AB in the Box. But to see him cut a smile afterward solidified all of the above.

Best of luck, Josh. I don't remember if he got drafted, but I think he has a bright future in or out of baseball.
