Both resignations are effective immediately," Superintendent Dr. Kevin Maddox said, via On3. “Chip English remains the interim Head Football Coach and will continue in this role for the remainder of the football season. We appreciate his willingness to serve in this capacity and support our players and coaching staff during this transition."

Maddox continued, "The past few days have been extremely unsettling for many of our varsity football players, coaches and the overall Hoover Community."

No body was hurt. The last one he was just trying to grab the face mask and the guy fell backwards due to poor balance. They are obviously just trying to gave an intense practice. The same people complaining would get mad if the coaches hugged a player for “inappropriate” personal contact.

Firing is more reflective of organizational control over a matter. Requesting and seeking resignation is weaker.

Why weren't they fired on the spot? I think the video is clear! Now those POSs get to go get another job with no mention of the incident. Say what you want, but two young African Americans were assaulted by two, grown white men. It should never happen regardless of the color of their skin, but in reality, it did and I would sue the pants off of Hoover and the AHSAA because I guarantee you that this was not the first time this has occurred. It's going to get really ugly and I hope the parents win a huge settlement because no child should have to go through that.
