This. Put it in the dryer on the "air" setting with dryer/tennis balls.

Going deer hunting for the first time this winter and wanted a budget gun to start out.
Ruger American .270 with a Leupold VX1.
Saved some money buying it in navy digital camo and put it towards the optic. In the gun for a little over $500.
How did I do?

New Scope and Rings under $250?

First time deer hunting this winter. Looking for a good value scope and rings to mount on my .270.
I know you get what you pay for with optics but I'm just starting out and I've got bills.
Nikon Prostaff? Leupold VX1?
Thanks.

U ski in camo – that was how you would ID a coonass in Colorado/Utah on teh slopes back in the day – camo jacket/bibs and black dot gloves from the plant
No. I snowboard in my NF or HH gear. I figured I could kills two birds with a good base layer for both.

In Louisiana. No.
Best Base Layer
Posted by Northernsouthern on 11/7/13 at 10:46 pm
This will probably get buried with sarcastic comments but here goes.
Best base layer bang for the buck. Need it for outdoors and snow sports.
Edit: Bought this jacket online (and pants) for $77/each (retail $199) but it's a little thin for my liking.

The only difference in specific buffer tubes is whether it's a rifle or carbine length tube. But I don't think yours is a rifle tube because they don't have 6 positions. I'm sure it'll run fine.
Mostly true, but it may be the difference between mil spec vs. commercial. Where are you measuring the tube?

OK OB. What are some must have items in your wedding registry?
We have family all over the country so we are registering on Amazon.

I remember hearing from some folks that the Custom II (Kimber's entry level model?) is not as good out of the box as the Ruger or Springfield.
Anyone have a Custom II?

Kentucky Gun Co has the Kimber Custom II for $655.99 with free shipping.
HERE
I've been debating between buying the Ruger SR1911 and SA Range Officer in the same price range.
What says the OB? Is this deal too good to pass up?

PSA has great deals and products. I bought PSA upper and lower from them. I almost bought a Spikes lower because it was a bit cheaper but it was sold out when I was ready. I went with PSA.
Our set up is very similar (mine is the FDE one above). The YHM rifle rail is heavy as hell.
To answer the question on the upper: Are you planning on building it yourself? Buying fully assembled? Do you plan on going with a fixed front sight?
Building an upper is not difficult, you just need to buy a few extra tools.

Since we are sharing, here is my first build from earlier this year. Bought my lower after election day and finished around February. Didn't pay above retail and came out around 1k.

re: Ruger American Compact rifles, Pro/Cons

First time deer hunting this year. I've had my eye on the Ruger American in .270. It is only offered in the standard size.
Not to start a war but am I better off getting the standard in .270 or compact in .308?
Thanks OB.
