Going deer hunting for the first time this winter and wanted a budget gun to start out.

Ruger American .270 with a Leupold VX1.





Saved some money buying it in navy digital camo and put it towards the optic. In the gun for a little over $500.

No. I snowboard in my NF or HH gear. I figured I could kills two birds with a good base layer for both.

This will probably get buried with sarcastic comments but here goes.

Best base layer bang for the buck. Need it for outdoors and snow sports.

Edit: Bought this jacket online (and pants) for $77/each (retail $199) but it's a little thin for my liking.

Our set up is very similar (mine is the FDE one above). The YHM rifle rail is heavy as hell.

To answer the question on the upper: Are you planning on building it yourself? Buying fully assembled? Do you plan on going with a fixed front sight?

Building an upper is not difficult, you just need to buy a few extra tools.

Since we are sharing, here is my first build from earlier this year. Bought my lower after election day and finished around February. Didn't pay above retail and came out around 1k.
