Are any all in one PCs worth a damn for gaming?

Looking at one for whole family use and if any have an edge for gaming I’d be interested to hear

Those "everything is in the monitor" deals, I think
To answer the OP:
Maybe some high end all-in-one, but it is almost impossible to upgrade them for ghe future

While I agree that's what an all in one is, his OP just doesn't feel like that's what he's asking about, if that makes sense. I could be wrong, though

Yes I’m referring to the new fangled computer set up where it’s basically everything in the monitor. It seems it’s to cut down on wires and shite. Wife’s sibling has one and she saw it and inquired. I don’t know much about them

I have my PC mounted under my desk and ran all the wires where you can barely see anything. Coupled that with a wireless keyboard, mouse, headset, gaming controller and you'll have that "all in one" look but with a much better PC.

Not only overpriced dogshit, but generally proprietary to the hilt so you can never fix or upgrade anything. In my opinion, their only place is in public facing “public access” computers where you want to reduce points of failure and points of public frickery. For home computing, they have terrible value.

And what do you consider "gaming" exactly? You can play all sorts of stuff on basic integrated graphics, but if the fantasy is playing GTA6 on it, it's a different situation.

It is a niche product - frankly more so than even a traditional SFF. These compressed format PCs use a combination of desktop and laptop technology to accomplish a particular form factor, more or less to the exclusion of everything else.
This term is so vague and open-ended that it has little usefulness. Everyone is browsing the web on their phones now. So, the PC is either for:
1. Old folks who can't see well
2. Kids who need PC/Mac for gaming they don't do on a console, phone or tablet
3. Productivity
An AIO would be okay (yet costly) for 1 and 3, as long as it isn't something like video editing, etc. No one is ever going to do serious gaming on an AIO. It would be, likely, a last choice for 2.
If you need a generalist PC you can do that in smaller form factors, but you start at the end (i.e. What must this PC be able to do? What is the space and budget available for it?) and then you work backward from there. Not fit a square peg (AIO) into a round hole (generalist PC with capacity for some level of PC gaming) because you saw one and it looked "kewl".
