Regardless of the proper definition, damming of said "Stoney Brook" will commence at 12:00 noon CST.

Thanks for all the "serious" posts. Single dad...struggling to make ends meet. Cannot go the military route due to injury. Took a BIG hit in divorce...La. divorce laws SUCK.
Student loans

Have a high school Sr. who will be starting college in La. in the fall. Will definitely have to have a student loan. Are the FASA loans the best? If not, what do you students recommend?

Actually, no. But as long as we were there, why not try to win it??

re: Do you know anybody from Louisiana who hates LSU?
Posted by sowbugg on 12/20/11 at 12:34 pm to West Central Tiger
There is a lot of hate from La. Tech fans. Just check out their little message board,Bulldog Barks and Bytes. As if they were in direct competition with LSU. Most of the hate seems to be directed at LSU getting more $$$ from the state??
As the newb here, how secure are we with Tommy Moffitt?? I would think someone has to be offering him?? That would be a huge loss.
Saban will have his defense ready for the run, including the option. We will have to complete some passes. Lets hope JJ is up to the cahallenge and that performance yesterday is just a bad memory.
re: JJ vs JL 40 yard dash time.

I am a staunch JL supporter, however, he definitely does not take a hit like JJ does. JJ takes the hit and bounces right back up. My ONLY issue with JJ is his slow release and tucking and running a little too fast quite often.

Jefferson/Lee??? LOL;LMAO;ROFLMAO. Adequate?? Yes. But that is the extent. Defense, special teams, damn strong running game, that is why we are here. If we could blend these two together we would have a pretty good QB, but not great even then. At no fault of theirs this entire situation has split the fan base and caused a riff that hopefully will not cause us to lose out on the MNC. I for one cannot wait until this year plays out and we move on to next year without Jefferson/Lee and all the drama associated with them. I just pray that Mettenburger can stay out of trouble!!! LOL.
selling the play fake is for pussies. He won't be able to hit his WR in stride if he takes that split second.
Split second?? Split second?? This is JJ we're talking about!!

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to this young mans family, friends, the entire Arkansas program...but this "moment of silence" crap burns me up. Lets have an actual PRAYER.
They will all be in Alabama on Nov. 5th...look 'em up and tell yourself.
Your explination makes sense from a legal standpoint, and I get the team rule/internal stuff, but my question/observation is this: why would any player on a team ranked #1 in the country, with a very real, legitimate, shot at a National Championship even consider doing ANY type of drug that could even remotely get them into trouble,(suspended one or more games, etc?? The same can be said for overdrinking, staying out entirely too late to the point it affects grades, performance at practice, etc. In short, doing ANYTHING that could possibly hurt your team???
Yes I understand they are "kids", make mistakes, and all that, but good Lord, have some self control. Let that stuff go until after the season and then party all you want to.
"why do all the guys have such a dazed look on their face? And since when was it ok to eat potato chips, twinkies, and all those other snacks on the sideline"???

No, not what I am suggesting. But MAYBE?? held accountable for their actions?? Some day when you are all grown up and have a job and a family, try failing a drug test where you work, or get charged with a felony...see how that goes.

Just not comfortable with the "no matter what" part of the comment. there has to be limits. Right?? Or have we sunken in society to an anything goes mindset???
re: Were any lessons at all learned from the Shady's fiasco?

As a father of "good kids" who has been on the receiving end of a call from the POlice, had "tighten up" sessions with both male and female kids, survived good grades, bad grades, experimentation with drinking, sex, smoking, all the things most teens and young adults go through, as much as we want these boys to be model citizens, they are still just kids. They make mistakes. All we as fans can do is trust they learn from it, that the coaching staff is doing all they can to keep the "bad" ones in check, and hope is doesn't F&*K up a potentially great season. In short, boys will be boys, girls will be girls, some do stupid things, some don't. And for some reason we as fans expect the kids on the team to be above all that and never be normal...well, that ain't happenin'!!! LOL
No. JJ cannot read. LOL

“I think it was just a change of tempo and a change of pace,” Lee said. “It gave Tennessee something more to worry about, so that’s what we needed to do. We moved the ball down the field and scored, and if that’s what needs to happen, that’s what we’re going to continue to do.”
I'm a Lee guy but you have to admit JJ has skill and can definitely run and poses a diferent threat when in the game. Would like to see him protect the ball a little better when running though!! Having said that, I still say you don't try to fix something that isn't broken and we have done well with Lee. Can't blame or criticize either one of them for wanting the exclusive starting role. I really think if JJ were just a little more humble, especially in his interviews and sideline demeanor, everyone on the Rant, and fans in general, would warm up to him a little better.

OMG!! You have over 4000 posts and just now seeing this??? Germans?? Try French, Hungarian, Vietnamiese!! LOL...Just kidding. That was a great video, it has been posted before but never gets old. I'm just on a soapbox in reference to # of post and revelance to knowledge of LSU/football in general. Hard to take critisism from 18-25 year olds when you are pushing 60 and are old enough to be their dad...and might actually be!!! LOL.

quote:Tigerbait98 put this totally in perspectrive for me earlier today. We can overlook all of our upcoming opponents because none of them have a chance against us. All we have to do is focus on Bama!! He has to be correct because he has 3045 posts as opposed to my mere 22 and we all know nobody on here ever started out with just one post and a persons knowledge of football is directly proportional with the number of posts you have regardless of your age, experience, etc.
You on the team?
Otherwise, "we" dont have to do any such thing. We can look ahead all we want as long as the team takes it "one-at-a-time"
It's a shame Jarrett didn't didn't get down inside the one...the QB sneek would have been a given!!!

I'm gonna call BULL$&*T on that comment.
I hope, and really believe, this team is more focused than ever. In these scenarios the biggest assumption is that we do not lose to
Tennessee, Auburn, Ole Miss, or Arkansas, which in the past has proven to be a very real possibility...and while the talk of Alabama is fun and exciting, we need to take this...one-at-a-time, one-at-a-time,

Having a mascot named after Confederate soldiers is very insensitive and will certainly bring shame to us soon. It will definitely cause problem with recruting. I can see us in the near future due to public outcry being forced to change our mascot to somethng more politically correct...something along the lines of some sort of bear maybe.
re: What-exactly-is wrong with our offense right now?
Posted by sowbugg on 9/30/11 at 10:30 pm to Lonnie4LSU
Some of you people amaze me. J. Jefferson has played well "at times"...but usually when he has shined, it was actually a broken play when his ability to run made a difference. We have a bevy of quality running backs, fully capable of providing us with all the necessary running game we need. Have you noticed the absence of delay penalties due to not getting the play from the sideline on time?? The absence of total confusion at the line of scrimmage prior to the snap?? The lack of "deer in the headlights" stares from the QB to the sideline when trying to get the play from said sideline?? The pouts after a bad play?? The ridiculous quotes in after game press conferences?? We are currently a well oiled machine with J. Lee at the helm. For the life of me I cannot understand the committment and devotion coach Miles has to JJ. Can you imagine how polished and successful we/Lee would be at this point had he been given the same support?? I literally have nothing against Jordan Jefferson and wish him nothing but the best. If he is actually not guilty of these allegations then I hope he is fully exonerated. Regardless of what you "experts" here on TD believe, we are better off with Lee. Do you really believe that JJ will make the offense better than it has been in the first 4 games?? Do you think we will fool anyone when we insert him inside the red zone?? Speaking of the red zone, would you rather have JJ in a running option as opposed to Ware, Ford, Blue?? Do you really have confidence that JJ can deliver the "touch" pass in the corner better thatn Lee??
