Texans are always blaming "a few wealthy families"...from the state of Texas football to apparently now, the power grid failure. Your friend has probably had a few conversations with a local well versed in this blame game. Yes we are having severe issues here, but are a few families behind this? Seriously, this sounds like a plot line from the old TV show Dallas. Some people took that show to heart and perpetuated the myths that still exist with a generation that never knew who shot JR
Domestic violence is one of the most dangerous environments for an officer. The "no real life experience" leftists want to use social workers as guinea pigs to test a theory in that same volatile environment. It is completely irresponsible to think that an unarmed social worker should be placed in harms way just to make a political point. There was at least a chance that those officers could have experienced a good outcome. Unarmed do gooders have no chance.
So is Alexa going to secretly listen to us playing the game and turn us in? This is absurd. Just ignore their list of approved words and carry on. WOKE is only 11 points anyway.

Good on him! From my time in Texas, I can't see Baylor bowing down to the mob on this. The author's reasoning behind leaving Judge Baylor is one of the best I have read to date on the whole statue issue.
Now that's funny :booboo:

That Texas cannon was prophetic

Joe's arm was definately a cannon on Saturday. It would make a great game day sign if someone could have that canon coming out of Joe's right jersey sleeve.
3 days ago, 10,000 Palestinians left the West Bank and crossed at the Allenby Bridge otherwise known as the Karameh Crossing for the second day of Eid. There is freedom of movement at this crossing 24 hours a day during the week with limited hours on the weekend. If Israel would not allow Tlaib to cross into Israeli territory, her grandmother could go to Jordan to see her. Buses run daily. Cars are allowed. This has nothing to do with her Sity. Netanyahu has already said he would allow her to see her grandmother if Tlaib agreed to not be disruptive. Tlaib will not comply and she has not even mentioned the easiest route to see family, which is through Jordan, so her true motives are exposed. She used her Sity as a political pawn for her anarchists ideals. Are there no honest journalists left to even ask the most basic questions?
My observation from reading this site since 2003 was that it provided a way for those of us no longer living in LA to connect to LSU sports and news. It grew less out of a coach and more out of pitiful sports reporting on LSU out of state. Sometimes no more than a paragraph. When Saban was at LSU
TD was really rather small. I saw TD grow much more in the Les Miles years when he was attracting so much national attention to the program. The SEC rant evolved when other fanbases, mainly Alabama, came in droves. Could be wrong, but thats what I remember.
Well said Axe. Most on this board are decent people and know better. The OP is obviously just pulling things out of thin air to make himself sound tough. Instead he just sounds pathetic. Thanks for the informative post.
Dude, I rarely post but this got me. She is your wife. You brought this to TD knowing you made her cry. What if she sees this thread a$$hole? Her hair will grow out but your reaction will be with her a whole lot longer. Man its just a temporary hair cut. You messed with her heart over that. Damn.
I read a history book years ago that stated that for hundreds of years the best, brightest and strongest were taken from Africa into slavery and dispersed throughout the world. Theory.... the African continent can never recover. The author's premise was that the population could never replenish the strongest gene pool after slavery. This was at least 30 years ago so the idea has been around for quite a while.

The issue is not the type of beer. As a child of alcoholism I can tell you the primary issue here is "I." I want, I like, I, I, I. Your thoughts should be, my behavior when drinking brought pain and suffering to my family and friends. This is obvious because of your wife's strong reaction to the NA beer. NOTHING is worth going back to that. And at only 4 months I can tell you those wounds are still raw and not even close to healing. You have probably lost trust from the people you love. Building back that trust takes time and baby steps. If any behavior, regardless of how trivial it may seem to you or others, hinders building that trust then please step back and count the cost. In 20 years what will you say you missed most in life, the taste of beer or the wasted opportunities to heal relationships.
Found this on the web from another TexasTiger...

Time to get rid of Les Miles. This is not the first time (see links) this has happened and we will not be able to beat the elite with him as our coach.

Opening Thoughts:

-Dexter McCluster can throw a pass but Russell Shepard can't all season? Really? Wow………I am pretty sure that he was the #1 player in the state of Texas playing 5A ball. HE IS A FREAKING QB

-Our QB development has been awful. No improvement in Jarrett Lee. Little to none for Jefferson.

- The only time we throw a screen pass was the last drive? Tyrone Nix was blitzing all night. Throw it to the back out of the backfield

For all the Miles Lovers:

-He is: 2-3 vs. Houston Nutt

1-2 vs. Saban

2-3 vs. Urban Meyer

1-2 vs. Mark Richt

0-1 vs. Petrino

*-All the people that keep quoting his record are absolutely off base. Those are the elite coaches in the SEC. He has a losing record against EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. Forward this to any person that likes Les Miles. The fact that he beats Tulane, La Tech, Miss. State (should have lost), Washington, & Vandy doesn't give him anything worth hanging his "hat” on. Please say this all together, he has a losing record to EVERY SINGLE TOP NOTCH PROGRAM……

- How many Les Miles recruits have been first round draft picks? Answer: 0

-Kentucky game in 2007. Charles Scott has 99 yards at halftime and doesn't see the ball until late in the fourth….This has been the theme of his entire career. We don't manage a game effectively. If you remember back to the Arkansas game in 2007, we got an illegal motion penalty that nullified the go ahead touchdown. Hester caught the touchdown that was called back. THE GAME WOULDN'T EVEN HAVE GONE TO OVERTIME!!

-Auburn game in 2006 (different OC so no excuses for all you Les loving people). He puts Charles Scott in the game on the last possession and he hadn't played all game. This begs two questions:

1) If he is "capable" of being in at such a crucial time, why in the world was that the first time he was in the game?

2) Secondly, he hadn't played all season to that point. What a great way to make someone successful, put him in at Jordan Hare on the final drive.

- Troy and La. Tech of this year should make you realize that the players play for themselves and not for their coach. Coach Miles spoke about how he instilled in his players not to look past Tech. HIS PLAYERS didn't listen for two years in a row. This is a sign.

Parting Thoughts:

I regrettably have to go back to work now. This is my Alma Mater. As we all know, football runs this University and for that matter the entire state. Every Tiger fan deserves better. We will recover from this. Do not accept mediocrity. Make it so miserable that he leaves on his own. We owe it to our players who bust their tail, to have a better leader.

From what I am hearing in Dallas. zero. Not buying it.
OKSt success is directly related to Boone Pickens billions. Not a Gundy or Miles thing.
We don't have Boone. We do have Miles. Scary.

Saw this kid play last year. Very solid. Plays basketball too. In years past, Lake Highlands received a lot of attention from colleges. But a few years ago they were put into an insane district with South Lake Carroll, Plano East, Plano, Allen,,, and it was a disaster. They fell off the radar of big schools. Last year they moved to a different district and they are able to compete. Still 5-A. The head coach is just going to have to work harder to promote this kid to the football schools. Last two big recruits went to Yale in 08 and another will go to Harvard in 09.
