Best coating for cedar siding and shingles for little library

I built a little free library. Frame is exterior 15/32 plywood primed and painted. Then it has cedar siding and trim. Still need to get some shingles but figured just go cedar as well.

What’s the best coating for overall protection yet somewhat retaining the fresh cedar color?

How about some clear Thompson's Waterseal?

i did one of these earlier in the year and used cedar pickets for the roof. All is painted with exterior oil based but sealed roof with this:
