re: Whoever it is knows he will be 2nd choice

All they need is a chance. They don’t care what choice they are.
re: Any word on Lawrence?

Hopefully he can get healthy in about 3 weeks when we play Florida. NWSt, Utah St and Vandy should be easily winnable games.
re: Question: Impression of O's performance
Posted by MSUBSNTiger on 9/8/19 at 4:19 am to abitaman6363
Coach O’s performance was great. Clock management was great, timeouts were used wisely and he allowed his coordinators the ability to continue to keep their identity throughout the whole game. This was vastly different from years past where we handcuffed OC’s when we would get the lead.
re: General consensus is that LSU jumps to #4.

As happy as I am with the offensive play and the win, it’s hard to say where we stack up. This is a great win over a PRESEASON/Week 1, #9 team in the country. I recall last year our fan base was excited over a win over then #8 Miami, as we should’ve been but in hindsight Miami turned out to be a 7-6 team. I say let the season play out a few more weeks and see how good Texas turns out to be. Lets enjoy this win as a fan base and if we continue to win, the polls will take care of themselves.
re: What John Emery brings to LSU's running game
Posted by MSUBSNTiger on 11/29/18 at 12:38 am to mhc4tigers
Saw him last year and he looks the part. He runs hard. I’ve seen Emery, Etienne and Williams in person and he isn’t as shifty as Pooka but he definitely looks better than Etienne did in high school. Size and speed, could be special if his work ethic is there.

Cushenberry - offense
White - defense

re: If Alleva is really considering giving O an extension we need to riot
Posted by MSUBSNTiger on 11/25/18 at 1:39 pm to geauxtigers87
I don’t think there is anyone more passionate than O about his team. Is he a top 5 or even top 10 coach in the country, I don’t know but I personally don’t think so. I don’t think a contract extension at this point is warranted though. Let him have another year without a contract extension and see what he does. Unfortunately you have to give a guy his 3 years and see what happens. We will keep our coaching staff intact this offseason and see what happens. If we are going in the right direction extend him, if not let him go.
re: My takeaways from Kyle Field last night
Posted by MSUBSNTiger on 11/25/18 at 12:11 pm to DhanTigers212
My experience last night was incredible at Kyle field minus the result of the game. Tailgating wasn’t LSU crazy but after the game their campus was very clean compared to LSU after a football game. We wore our LSU gear and my son and I ate and drank as we were offered more food than we could eat. Great atmosphere and great experience. Drastic difference from our experience in Starkville!
re: Can Orgeron reverse Juniors leaving early?
Posted by MSUBSNTiger on 10/14/18 at 6:19 am to BigDaddy5151
The announcers did make 1 good point yesterday regarding this question. CEO and his staff have these guys playing for the name on the FRONT of the jersey. If they buy into this theory he will be able to keep a few more Juniors that would likely consider going to the draft.

I think stopping the fake FG was a big momentum boost for the team as well as the fans.

Burrows is the game manager we need. Statistically not great, but very smart in his decision making and will continue to improve.
We have a two headed monster at RB as neither IMO has separated from the other.
O-Line is getting better but really need to clean up pre-snap penalties( 2 false starts on LT that I can recall)
Wide receivers are really stepping up. Had the drops early but seem to be doing much better. JJ, Chase and Marshall had good games.
D-Line did well. Got pressure several times with just 3. These guys are the key to making the secondary really good with their ability to move the QB off his spot even if they don’t get the sack.
LB’s are really good. Ability to contain Fields and stop the running game were impressive.
DB’s are pretty good as well and getting better weekly.
Play calling was the best I’ve seen yet and really like not being predictable.
Aranda continues to earn his check as he dialed up blitzes at the right time and even if we didn’t get to the QB, it caused him to move his feet and force a bad throw or get rid of it quicker than he’d like to have.
Cole Tracy is the man and is a difference maker.
Overall, impressive win against a highly ranked team.

Yes it was, especially since we hosted Emery. He is the states Best RB this year and would be a big get for the Tigers. Don’t want to see another Etienne get away from La.

I agree that Ga is a top team but the next 3 weeks after the bye week will tell where Ga stands as they play FLA, Kentucky and Auburn. As the season continues every week contenders are separated from pretenders as two of our quality wins suffered defeats yesterday in MIA and Auburn. Hoping they can remain focused this week against State and head into Bama game with only the one defeat on the record.

LSU has 3, against Auburn, GA, and MIA
FLA has one against LSU
Michigan got one against Wisconsin.
Oregon over Washington
Alabama over A&M
Clemson over A&M
A quality win is against a team in a Power 5 conference that have a winning record. Not .500 or below which is all of GA’s victories.
MS State’s win over Auburn is a more quality win than any of Georgia’s. Again I am excited about the win just putting it into perspective.

re: Whoever sold tickets to Georgia fans, Shame on you!

I gotta do what I gotta do to recoup some of the cost for TAF fees and tickets. $1200 for my tickets goes a long way in doing just that. Sorry, not sorry but it just made financial sense as the cost to keep my tickets continues to increase annually!
re: Biggest surprise this season so far?

Postitive is definitely the play of Justin Jefferson and Joe Burrows ability to manage the game.
Negative is hands down the offensive line play. I believe the O-Line is getting better with the exception of the LT spot.

Georgia’s quality wins have come against a 3-3 Missouri and South Carolina team. They also have a win against Tennessee as well. Georgia was so highly ranked because they are the defending SEC champs and CFB playoff finalist. This was truly Georgia’s first test of the season and they failed because LSU was the better team. Big win against #2 and very happy with it but LSU has to stay focused against Moo State and avoid a letdown leading up to the bye week before Bama.
re: Worst Home Opener Attendance Since the South Endzone Expansion

My family went but this will be our only one of the year. Since they put the intramural fields where the old levee parking was, you now have to walk over a mile to get to the stadium for the free parking! I don’t think LSU is the only one dealing with this issue though. It is so much cheaper to watch the game at home. No traffic, no heat, no frustration and I can flip back and forth between channels during commercial breaks.

Jim McElwain situation. Show proof if you have it. If you can't show proof it didn't happen.
