Okay, obviously guys like Devin White aren't included here, but Juniors that need to stay and better themselves. If we can avoid attrition and keep recruiting, a Natty is very near.

Assuming we don't get one this year

White and Williams are really the only ones that should leave early. The others need work.

Will lose at least one of Anderson/Sullivan just from their measurables alone. We are stacked at WR.

Rasherd Laarence is our biggest recruiting need right now . We have to get him to stay and play one more year .

That will be the key. Orgeron needs to go hire Saban’s bag man

Language is about meaning. For instanc, the choice of the word “should” suggests there is some obligation... in this case, to leave early. And that furthers the notion that it is really ok for talented, even accomplished juniors, to leave early. I think the word “should” better applies to staying... like “juniors should stay on the team until they complete their eligibility”.

But I think I know what you are saying - that W&W are talented enough to leave as juniors. True, but a better word than should for this meaning is “could” because “could” indicates it is within their power... in this case, to leave early, but there is no obligation to do so. It is subtle, but there is a difference in meaning.

True. But with his recurring injuries you can't blame him if he goes and makes his money. That much money gives you lots of options for the rest of your life. It hooks your whole family up. Can't blame a kid for getting it while it's there. But he'll leave a huge hole if he goes. Is Fehoko a senior?

The announcers did make 1 good point yesterday regarding this question. CEO and his staff have these guys playing for the name on the FRONT of the jersey. If they buy into this theory he will be able to keep a few more Juniors that would likely consider going to the draft.

I'm always going to pull for LSU but these players should leave when they have the opportunity to be drafted. They can improve while being paid.

Think of Danielle Hunter. Left early and was taken in the 3rd round. Many thought that was a mistake but he was able to improve on technique and had 18.5 sacks in his first 32 games. (Only 4 or 5 sacks in 38 games at LSU)

On June 27, 2018, Hunter signed a five-year, $72 million extension with the Vikings with $40 million guaranteed and a $15 million signing bonus.

Rashard isn't leaving until he graduates with a degree... Comes from his family who I've known for 30+ years

Cool...but he's still leaving after this year. You're not the only person with ties to Monroe.

Yes, then you could say there is an obligation to go make millions to change the trajectory of their family and future generations. To say that a man’s obligation is to his school at that point is asinine.

Please inform this young man's family that plenty of working adults attend college. Also his major is Sports Administration

Sports Administration Salary by Experience Level. With a master's degree in sports administration, you can expect to earn anywhere from $30,000 entry level, mid-level around $50,000 to $100,000 upper-level annually. In some cases, like if you work in a high-profile position, you could earn even more.

For comparison:
Trey Quinn was Mr. Irrelevant- the absolute last pick in the entire draft.

Trey Quinn signed a four year contract with the Washington Redskins worth $2,529,072 on May 10, 2018. Quinn received a $69,072 signing bonus.

If you're signing 4 and 5 star recruits, early exits are part of the game.

Ohio State embraces the early-exit. They promise recruits and parents to assist in the process.

They help contact top NFL experts on the draft process. They get written analysis. Their main counsel is, "If you are probable for a 1st or 2nd round pick, then go for it. But below 1st or 2nd, you are far better off staying."
They have the spreadsheets to prove their position.

Helps enormously with signing top recruits. Some programs make things miserable for blue-chip players who want to leave early. Very stupid, IMO.

You can't stop people from chasing their dreams, especially if there is money involved..

He needs to focus on keeping Lawrence and Fehoku. Losing them would be devastating IMO.

I do not think at all what that means or implies, in this case. The definition is as follows

1. used to indicate obligation, duty, or correctness, typically when criticizing someone's actions.
2. used to indicate what is probable.

I read it is it would be a correct and probable choice that those two high end performers would make. That is also what you read into it as evidenced by you statement

The word could would be better applied to all eligible player rather than those likely to leave, at least in part because their future earning prospects are unlikely to increase due to another year of unpaid football.

And, from my perspective, in terms of obligation I disagree with your assessment
quote:

I think the word “should” better applies to staying... like “juniors should stay on the team until they complete their eligibility”.
.
is incorrect simply because the “obligation” is extremely one sided. Is there really an obligation to continued to be a very poorly paid (I only use this term because people will say “they get a free education”) employees of an industries generating billions of dollars on the players work product while having no guarantees they will even have that scholarship throughout their 4-5 years or guarantees regarding future earnings should they be injured during their senior year? My answer is no, though I wish some would and I think getting paid would enhance their inclination to do so. Imagine if Guice were still on this team
