Hi, I did a search on this board and found the hydrogen peroxide link in the Spring Garden thread. I may be overlooking it but what I couldn't find in the link was the length of time to soak seeds in the mixture.

I got a late start in my garden this year due to a long winter and an excessive rainy spring in my area. I've now got everything planted except for my White Mountaineer half runners beans and Volunteer half runner beans. Due to the late start on the beans I was researching how to speed up germination and came across several articles on using a H2O2 mix of 1 part H2O2 (1 cup) to 1 and 1/2 tsp of water. Other articles, YouTube and blogs are all over the place with time of soak from 30 minutes, 8 hours or 24 hours. The theory is by doing the soaking it can speed up germination from a few weeks to a few days.

Do any of you good people have recommendations or experience with soaking bean seeds and if this actually works?
Thanks

I’ll have to try it out and see. I use EXCEED innoculant and it speeds up the germination.

if I ever soak any seeds it’s just in water. Beans tend to germinate immediately just sticking in the ground though

Last week I soaked some beans in plain water for 24 hours and planted them. The I set the leftovers on the counter, still in the cup. The next day, all of them were sprouting.
