only being a hc for one season seems like too much of a risk to hire aranda.

It’s two seasons and he’s got a better resume than Mel Tucker

It's a legitimate concern. I like the thought of him coming back but it's a risk. I was thinking that other coaches ae probably like "please don't let LSU get a competent leader as their HC".

With that in mind, there's no way he could be worse than O or Les.

as a head coach? no. but you don't make that hire solely on what he has done as an hc. you make that hire because of his past ties with the program and familiarity with how he operates

No but you do have enough sample size if you add his years here. You know what he's capable of doing so you know he's a great coach. As a HC he has already beat king Riley in the division in his first true year. Last year doesn't count that season was fricked for everyone.

It worked out for Baylor with no sample size. You can gather more sample size while he's at USC killing it and never consider returning to LSU.

IMO, no he doesn't. Same as Tucker. Two years for Aranda and three for Tucker. Combined they barely have enough.

Not really, but there is risk with every candidate. I think he may have a higher ceiling than some of these other guys. So, risk/reward. He’s doing pretty well for a dude who’s brand new to head coaching. He should only get better.

Some of the most successful hires on the elite P5 level have come from elite coordinators.

So, Aranda was well qualified before he ever coached a game at Baylor. Everything he has done at Baylor is just a bonus.

Ryan Day
Dabo Swinney
Lincoln Riley
Kirby Smart

All were hired in their current position with no head coaching experience. To automatically rule someone out based on this, especially someone the administration knows and has first hand experience of how they operate, would be short-sighted.
