Serious question...

Why is gentrification looked down upon but black people moving into historically white neighborhoods not?
Don’t get me wrong, it sucks when people die. But is the death of a child star from the 50’s really threadworthy?
I’m being an arse. I’m actually a big fan of Elon and thinks he’s doing more to advance humanity than anyone else has in generations. That’s why I gotta keep him on his toes with snarky posts on an anonymous Internet forum.
This is the definition of irony

What have you done for me lately though

I don’t think they’re a fabulous idea or a horrible one; they’re a symptom
Right, that’s exactly what I said in the post you replied to
quote:

Soccer is actually a very exciting sport to watch vs baseball. At any moment a break away can happen and a scoring opportunity can present itself. You get to see great defense and great offense on these breaks.

Baseball is one of the more boring sports to watch. I watched both my sons please through high school and it was a snooze fest more times than not.
Like I said, if I liked soccer I’d be more inclined to drive hours to watch him play. But I’m a good father so I steered my son away from that ridiculous commie sport.

But how is that any different than the military industry, insurance, pharma or anything else? They all bribe the government to have more control over us. The problem is the scope and size of federal government, not the specific industries.

It’s not any different. I’ll refer you to my previous post where I said the lobbying industry is a bigger danger than private prisons. And of course the lobbying industry would be substantially weaker if the federal government was substantially weaker.

Nah.

Just either a shitty troll or shitty person.

Probably both.

Aren’t we all a little bit of both at times?

Elon wants rockets to be as reusable as commercial airline planes. Airliners land in bad weather all the time. Step up you game Mr. Musk.

Why?

In a vacuum with no other outside influences I think they’re a great idea. In a society where politicians and judges can be bribed to put more people in jail they are a terrible idea.
Depends on how much I like the sport. I really like baseball so I’ll drive a good ways to watch my son play. If he decides to take up soccer I’m not going unless it’s 5 minutes away and in an indoor climate controlled facility with high speed wifi so I can watch real sports on my phone.

Do you have a top ten list you could share with us to back this up? It's not that I don't believe you. I'd just like to see some data.

I don’t have any hard data, nor am I going to research it right now, but off the top of my head I’d go with

Rise of single parent households and the
War on Drugs

Just for starters.

Oh also the 3 strikes your out rule
quote:

Our govt/politicians are run by campaign financing. In other parts of the world, they are rightly called bribes. Since private prisons became a thing in the 70’s, our prison population (in the land of the free) has increased 300%. We incarcerate more per capita than any place on the planet.

Correlation doesn’t always equal causation. I’m not a fan of for profit prisons and wouldn’t mind seeing them go away but they are certainly not the biggest factor in out incarceration rate.
quote:

The prison industrial complex acts as a lobbying influence to keep more people in prison

What I take from this is that the lobbying industry is a much bigger problem than for profit prisons.

Close to home for you.
Private prisons are a bad idea until we go full anarcho-capitalist.
Tell him he’s being moved to a part time status until he feels like it’s prudent to return to work. Then cancel his benefits

Was pretentious homo the look you were going for here?

Because if so then bravo my friend.
