American BRANDON McNULTY wins World Cycling Road Race Championship!!

First American to win it since Lance in 1993. American Quinn Simmons finished 4th and American Matteo Jorgenson finished 8th which are great results too.

Crazy that we had the strongest team by far.
Plus Ashlin Barry won the U23 race as a 19 year old.

US controlled the race. Were able to sit on when Simmons and then McNulty were up the road. Nothing flukey about that!

I'm new to biking (as exercise) so I am curious about why they all wear white socks and shoes? I starting to appreciate different bikes as the machines they are.

It looks like he’s wearing shoe covers in that photo, which provide marginal aerodynamic benefits. But they wear white socks and white shoes because it looks pro.

Not everyone does but it is the most popular color but its just fashion. I wear white shoes but black socks which is the only reason I'm not a pro........
Actually, Lance wore black socks for a while. Here is a pic of Remco Evenepoel winning the Time Trial earlier this week wearing black shoes and socks. He was in todays road race but wore white shoes & socks.
