I haven’t been to the festival, but I have been to Austria and the scenery is indeed beautiful.

I went many years ago and was quite impressed. My favorite performance was from a group from Salzburg, who were all family members. I wish I could remember the name of the group...Von Turp or Van Trappist or something like that. They were led by some cute red head with short hair who had a real "governess" vibe to her. They sang a couple of songs about some white flower and another one about a lusty goat or something. After their performance, the crowd went crazy and called for an encore. The sounds of Bravo, noch einmal! could be heard, but they never came back out for the encore. How rude.
