re: 2013 in-state WRs and TE...

Lewis(WR_West Jeff) is similar to a damaris johnson--only taller...jefferson(WR-Destrehan) playing offense at destrehan because he's a playmaker, but prefers defense and has a defensive mentality...Dobbard(TE--Karr) is huge but has great body control and good hands...
Verbal Offers from LSU, Alabama, Pitt, Tennessee and quite a few others...
LSU Baseball---One/Two Run Games
Posted by gbeezy on 4/18/11 at 2:25 pm
I'm sure negative baseball fans will erase the silver lining, but---LSU has lost 7 games by one run and 2 by two runs...may not mean much but in baseball usually these games start going the other way...
TISugger--im not a JJ apologist, i coached the kid in high school and am a supporter of the young man, unlike you who has never thrown a football or had to read a defense let alone a playbook, and gets off on bashing young men who do...that being said, it was very possible for me to see a drastic change in Jordan in just a few months time...will it translate into a natl champ, who knows?? but at this point he gives us the best chance to do so>>
Actually lsu's offense was pretty damn good under jimbo, then regressed under crowton, and is well on the way to being much imroved under "Craig"thorpe..
re: Shep in the "new" offense

Shep has definitely improved..his routes and breaks are sharper and hands drastically improved..SK mentioned several times that he will get more touches..GC made no serious effort to involver him consistently in the offense and contrary to what most rantards believe, it isnt that easy of a switch to SEC caliber receiver..
No doubt beefense5, but thats what makes this board what it is...the kids been bashed since he's been at LSU (some of it his fault of course) but it took me less than 5 minutes to see the impact Kragthorpe has had on his mechanics and confidence...
Kragthorpe and Jordan Jefferson
Posted by gbeezy on 4/3/11 at 11:54 am
was able to attend thurs practice and yesterdays scrimmage...For starters Kragthorpe is just what JJ needs..has technically improved Jordan in every aspect--footwork,release,simplifying reads,etc..he looks as comfortable as he has since he left Destrehan..quicker release, tighter spiral, you name it, its improved..he also said he is able to communicate with SK about reads, audibles, etc like he was never able to w GCrowton..and this, more than anything, may be the most important aspect as his confidence is sky high..Lee worked mostly with 2nd offense and Mett in clean up roll(he is a big kid,has a cannon, but a long delivery and decent footwork and in my opinion will be very good under SK's tutelage but not any time soon)..As for other positions, O-Line is very good, Davenport will be REAL GOOD move in time..RB playing time will be a battle and they are legitimately all SEC caliber(Hilliard not practicing)..Wide Rec third spot a battle between Boone and Wright, with RR and Shep locked in at first two wr spots..Didnt see a lot of defense at practicie except during team periods but D-Line is ridiculously loaded at every position, as is the secondary, but at LBer no player stood out but that is to be expected as it seems coaches are rotating a few guys trying to get right mix...
Ronald Lewis--SophomoreWest Jeff) WR/KR Highlights
Posted by gbeezy on 2/16/11 at 7:02 pm
Different Head Coaches have varying amounts of input...Saban is a HC with Heavy input...So does Sean Payton..Miles has input but it is limited..
Grammar corrected--apologies ATR...been to quite a few practices, meetings, etc...not doubting his abilities as a playcaller, just know he has limited input...hard for any major BCS Head Coach to have input...not saying it cant be done, just hard to do...

re: Please stop mentioning Spread OCs
Posted by gbeezy on 1/13/11 at 8:09 pm to geauxtigers6492
Tim Brando on wwl radio this aftenoon quoted Miles (in a taped interview to be played tomorrow morning) as saying he wants to run both spread and pro sets...which is pretty much what he has wanted crowton to do all along...
Drew Breeeeeeeees!!!!! Former OC to Saints QB at Purdue...
Les and Playcalling
Posted by gbeezy on 1/13/11 at 8:03 pm
Les is basically a GM..he has very little SAY in much game planning or playcalling..at times he may give a suggestion, and obviously he is informed as to what's going on, but for the most part he oversees the whole team..point being he will hire someone who has a strong background in developing qbs AND someone who can drive what at times in the past few years has been a runaway train...
Chaney likely out of running for OC
Posted by gbeezy on 1/13/11 at 7:48 pm
Tennessee has upped his money--from another coach on staff at Tenn...
crowton runs the O, or should say was running the O--One of LSUs biggest issues, and this is not breaking news, is that there are too many chiefs and not enough indians on offense..Stud--former OC, GC the OC, Enmsinger who has called plays, and Gonzales who is passing game coordinator AND Les is an offensive guy who gies to game planning meetings etc...Les had more input than usual for cotton bowl..he wanted more of a pro-styl look and less spread...crowton does recruit, but only QBs except in rare cases..likes to get a live look in person...
Not even one who openly flirted with Michigan? If he stays, and they lose to Oregon week one you can bet this board will be hopping with "fans" willing to help pack Les' bags for anywhere he wants to go...

Its possible...
Why Leave???
Posted by gbeezy on 1/10/11 at 7:08 pm
just something to Think about---Les is under tremendous pressure to win NOW at LSU...expected to contend for NC for sure next 2 years...if those expectations aren't met, and say LSU goes 10-2 next year or two, he will likely be fired (Net earnings $6-7 million for Miles)...He goes to UM for 5 years /$20-25 million he is set for rest of his life..he goes "home" where if he goes 10-2 he is a hero and a legend...
