What a job he's doing on kickoffs. This hasn't been the case for at least a decade. Just learned of his name in the huddle.

Kid can hit too. Look at his recruiting videos.

He was an all state safety and knocked the snot out of some people

Team lols him Dr. Boom. He led the NCAA in touchbacks last year!

Still baffles me how an all-state safety is now a kicker. Seems like an all-state DB from any state, would have gotten at least a couple power 5 offers.

He was a very good high school safety. He was able to dictate some playcalling by teams - they would abandon over the middle routes and speed sweeps. Avery went up against some elite talent in high school-- Henry Ruggs (ala), Justin Ross (clemson), etc and fared pretty well against them but he thought his ceiling was greater in kicking and punting. Coach Mac and Coach O laid out a plan for him and were the reason he came to LSU. They believed in him, which his mother and I are forever grateful for.
