YES you need passports.

Have you booked a hotel?

What types of things do you like to do activity-wise?

Are you looking to get out and about and explore the town or hole yourself up and drink your face off for a week at an all-inclusive?

Thanks for the response, we booked an all inclusive resort for our stay, but we would take some time to explore the area.

Traveled to Cancun about 20 years ago without one, we took a cruise into foreign territories & we didn’t have one so that’s not 100% accurate. So that’s why I pose the questions, but thanks for your response .

That’s a cruise. It is 100% accurate. It’s not 20 years ago anymore. Have a good trip.

There was another thread on Cabo a few days ago, may be able to find it a few pages back.

Flora Farms
Los Tres Gallos
Baja Cantina
Had great sushi at Daikoku.

We rented a catamaran and went on a private snorkeling/whale watching trip. It was pretty cool. I would not recommend doing anything in large groups (if they even are doing that). They all looked miserable.

Is a great Mexican restaurant and once you get inside the setting is beautiful.

Just sent you an email on a few Ambergris Caye questions.

OP, I also forgot to add, you can rent a car for like $80 and drive up the pacific coast of the peninsula. We stopped at Punta San Cristobal, Secret Rocks Beach, and Punta Lobos near Totos Santos. Some really cool beach/cliff views. They just built a new hotel at Punta Lobos so you may be able to incorporate a meal there.

We just got back last week.

At the marina there are plenty of water taxi options to see the arch and the rock formations.

Book a dinner cruise. All you can eat and drink.

Take an excursion to lover's and divorce beach.

Wear a light colored ball cap or buy an "sombrero". I have blonde hair and blues and I needed to wear one constantly. Drink plenty of water during the day time. The sun is brutal and it's very dry (it's a desert). I felt the sun within 30 mins of the 1st of walking around.

If you plan to spend time at the beach and swim in the ocean, don't book a resort on the Pacific Ocean side. The waves are massive and the undertow is a death trap. We stayed at Playa Grande near the Marina on the Pacific Ocean and walked down the beach one day to the rocks and hardly saw anyone out there. It's not illegal to swim, but no one is going to save if you get taken out to sea.

I didn't get the all-inclusive resort package. Didn't think it was worth it, b/c we didn't plan on staying at the resort all the time.

Mexican beer is way cheaper; for obvious reasons. I preferred Modelo Especial.

Sharpen your negotiation skills. DO NOT accept their 1st or even 2nd offer. The Mexicans selling taxis, fishing tours, dinner cruises, drugs, etc. don't see Gringos; they see $$$ walking around. They will very easily charge you 2 or 3xs the price versus someone who looks local. My wife is of Mexican descent and I let her do the talking.

Tried to party one night at Cabo Wabo. Very disappointing. It was dead. They still limited due to covid.

I was told the "policia" will give you a $400 USD fine if they catch you w/o a mask, but I think that resort lady was full of shite. I saw plenty of people waling around the Marina w/o one. But, you have to wear one on the water taxi until you leave the marina and reach open water.

We had a great time. Can't wait to go back! Have fun!

It was nice and would stay there again. The bad 1st:

At check-in the time-share rep kept trying to get us for a 90 min breakfast to invest in Greg Norman's real estate ranch. Started to get annoying. Offered discounts on dinner cruises, golf, etc. I was able to negotiate the same prices w/o her "special deal". They are very nice but relentless! I didn't have time to sit thru all that. I thought the pool swim up bar could be a little bigger, but it did have wood burning pizza oven which I thought was very cool. If you don't get the all-inclusive package make sure they show you both menus at the sports bar. They gave us the "special" menu to try to up-sell us. All we wanted was burger and fries that evening.

There's plenty of pool space overall and a adult area near the pool bar. The service was very good. The resort is very clean and the grounds are beautiful. They keep it up very well. We booked the luxury suite that had a separate bed and bathroom ($222/night). The all-inclusive was at least $350/night. We were on the 6th floor and had a great view of the ocean, but you can ask for ground floor pool side. We had a full kitchen and dining room. Run down to the local store for your booze and food if you don't feel like leaving your room one night to eat. The ocean was viewable from all the balconies that were facing the pool. From 1-4pm it was Happy Hour at the pool. 2 for 1 beers and cocktails. I stuck with Mexican beers. The parking was free and it was only a 15-20 min walk to the marina. Very convenient location. There's mini golf and fitness center. Book your covid test appointment once you arrive. It was $23 and they charge it to your room.

That’s some great intel. I have found that people are super eager to give details of their trip after returning from Cabo. Not sure what it is about that town, but it seems to light people up and before they know it they are already planning their return.

Even more so with Isla...

You said it baw!

Of all the vacations we've taken, Cabo for some reason, makes you want to make a return trip very quickly. Hard to explain....it's just different.

Tacos Gus- great little taco stand in Cabo

Solomon's Landing is another great place to go for lunch or dinner.

We used Fish On for a charter fishing and had a blast. We went about this time and caught a bunch of tuna and dorado.

Enjoy, we are headed back in 2 weeks to stay at Le Blanc Los Cabo.

Piggy backing off of this thread for some suggestions on hotel stays. Getting married in February, and we have decided to do our honeymoon in Cabo. We don't plan on doing too many excursions, mostly relaxing, drinking by the pool, spa days for the soon to be wife, and a round of golf or two for myself. Probably going to do the AI route.

Right now I am looking at options with Costco Travel. Their packages seem like a good deal, but also willing to book on my own. Their selections with ratings above 4 out of 5 stars are:
Dreams Los Cabos
Paradisus Los Cabos
Grand Fiesta Americana
Breathless Cabo San Lucas
Secrets Puerto Los Cabos
Marquis - Los Cabos
Hard Rock

Anyone have good experiences with these? Or am I better off booking on my own at another resort?
