He is back at practice and running and no not worried that Tiger Coaches didn't say anything concrete... you don't have to give injury information to the opponents.
Seems like BYU is a relatively good matchup for us... They have a pro style QB and say they want to chunk it downfield... with Key doubtful our youngsters on the DL will benefit from knowing where the QB will be and that he needs time to get it to receivers downfield. Chaisson is a beast and a Key clone.. so that should be a favorable matchup... Our DBs should be able to blanket the receivers (they should be much more athletic and faster than BYU) although we definitely need to avoid the occasional breakdown and not allow one or two long passes. Delpit is showing to be a ball hog at safety and the competition at DBU is intense as usual, so I do not expect any dropoff in our secondary. Their running game is worse after losing their top RBs... that should help with LSUs inexperienced LB corps. A mobile QB who would dink and dunk combined with experienced rushing attack would stress our LB and edge guys... Their LBs should be a strength which obviously pairs well against our strength in the rushing game, but I cant believe they are fast enough to stay with Guice on the edge even if they manage to clog the middle. Guice will get his yards and Canada's use of misdirection and WR in the running game will stretch them sideline to sideline. Speed makes up for a bad first step... doubtful they have that kind of speed. Their DBs will have to also protect deep, I cant believe they will want to press against us... that should open up underneath routes for TE, WR and also RBs and while their LB might be experienced enough to counter some of that they will have to respect the run first. BYU will have played a game and while playing a game is good because of the progress young players make from Game 1 to Game 2.. the flip side is we will have game film on them and they will have last year for Aranda and Pitts for Canada. I think that will offset this advantage especially when we are on offense since no one will have seen Canada's offense as it relates to LSU personnel. Pitts tapes will help with pre snap motion, but everyone knows Canada tweeks his play calling based on individuals. BYU will be forced to prepare for misdirection as well as LSU traditional power game. All that being said I think LSU defense will smother BYU offense and allow our offense to wear down BYU defense.... they cant keep up with Guice all day (especially having to chase WR on runs) even if our passing game isn't prolific. Overall I feel like we will slowly pull away from a scrappy BYU team.

Actually if Brennan does well it should showcase our offense and attract QBs.. it was unlikely we were really trying for a QB this year (although I am sure if a top QB asked to come we would take him)... so a 2019 recruit will be saying "I only have to sit one year and then get ready to compete against Narcisse or whoever is the backup.. and they let Brennan play as a true freshman.. so if something happens to Brennan.. I could play as a freshman" at least that is how I would spin it as a recruiter...
I hope he catches on with a team... does anyone know if he signed one of the new two way contracts for the G-League (Gatorade League former Developmental League)... each NBA team can sign two players for up to two years as long as they have less than 3 years of experience (including G-League). They get 75K for the year which compares to 25k for other G-League players and they don't count towards the 15 players on the NBA roster. They can be brought up and down but after I think 42 days of service time they have to be added to the NBA roster... If they are brought up they get prorated NBA minimum... This is the first year this two way contract is in existence and it will really help borderline players as the NBA team keeps your rights and has some amount of flexibility and desire to develop your game... Bulls would be a good spot for Blakeney as would like the Mavericks or even the Lakers...
2015 when we picked up Guice... we had 8 three star and 5 two stars (per Rivals) and still managed to rank 8th in recruiting (again per Rivals) that year. Some of these guys will go up and some will drop off... Although it would be nice to have another Guice in Baton Rouge this year.
Why should Bellhaven in Jackson hold the camp in or near Baton Rouge... go to Shreveport or Monroe... heck go to Austin or Houston... What would be the Texas reaction to a Oklahoma D3 school hosting a camp in Austin or Pflugerville (yes that is actually a place near Austin) and inviting LSU
The latest Rivals ranking (June 6 2018) has Texas 5th and LSU 4th... with identical average star ranking of 3.5... yes LSU has more recruits... Last year Texas ended up 31st with avg star ranking of 3.3 while LSU was 8th with the third highest star ranking of 3.75.. 2016 LSU finished 5th and Texas 11th (3.54 avg Star for both)... 2015 LSU finished 8th and Texas 12th (LSU 3.44 Texas 3.48 Avg. Star)... 2014 LSU 2nd and Texas 20th (LSU 3.72 Texas 3.17 Avg. Star). The 3.75 Avg Star last year with a coaching change was impressive.. of course there was more consistency with most of the staff staying on, but still only the best Miles years stack up to that... I have no doubt that both Texas and LSU will finish in the top 10, especially since both can sign extra players this year. I certainly do not think Herman is BETTER than Coach O at recruiting... Who is better at game management and Xs and Os will play out over a couple of years...

I hope both Brennan and Narcisse redshirt... That should mean Etling stays healthy and does at least a good job at QB. It will also allow us a better look at McMillan and Scott...
Yes he can practice and workout with team
I am also interested in seeing if some misdirection and a few shovel passes slows down their defense at all... I also thought for sure that we would huddle on the sideline near mid-field quietly insert Harris as a WR (maybe even change jersey for game) out of the huddle with another WR with third WR on other side and then put him in motion and toss like the jet sweep then have him chunk it long (his only really good pass)

Probably needs a redshirt year..
Might not want to be in big brother's shadow... it isn't like big brother will be there at school with him... If so going outside of Florida might be the way to go...

I wouldn't give him a scholly for football, but as a walk on I would definitely give him a shot... who knows he might be a monster on jump balls in the corner of the endzone from the 10-15 yard line.
LSU beat Alabama 11-8... It was a great game! The Seniors have beaten Alabama every year... And if you have never actually seen a Lacrosse game.. It is definitely fun! Lots of action and some hitting as well!
My son is the starting Faceoff guy... super proud of him... Lacrosse is definitely fun to watch, I hope to see more of you out at the game.
Actually it doesn't matter whether Moses was pissed that Les was fired and that made up his mind or if he had already made up his mind to go to Alabama.. either way it happened it just emphasizes the point of how hard it is to keep together a recruiting class once the head coach is fired... some recruits actually develop a relationship with the head coach or offensive coordinator and some wonder about whether a new coach will perform or what the offense will look like or even which coaches will be around to start Spring Ball. It doesn't matter if O was the recruiting coordinator, he was a DL coach and not the face of LSU. O was able to maintain a top 10 class... yes he lost some in state recruits... that actually makes what he did even harder to believe... because the kids he did get in large part were not homer kids that grew up loving LSU.. the late additions were out of state kids a lot of who were linked heavily to other Power 5 teams. I think O did a good job of filling needs other than at RB.. That was one of the things we all bitched about was lopsided recruiting classes heavy on the sauce (DB, WR, and RBs) and light on the meat and potatoes...
What I meant that people have always criticized Les for holding on to nonperforming coaches like Cam. I think that was an obvious lesson and one he learned as evidenced by immediately letting go of Cam and Peveto. Moving Jaluke and firing Craig also appears to fit in this category.
I feel like Coach O knows that Les held on to non performing coaches too long and that directly contributed to his dismissal (I mean you would have to lived under a rock not to at least suspect). He has said that he would put together the best staff in the country. He is off to a good start with Canada after locking down Aranda. He gave Craig the recruit coordinator job, but obviously wasn't happy with the job he did either in recruiting or on the field or both. He quickly moved to remedy that at the earliest time feasible... which was after NSD. Jaluke was reassigned also right after NSD and as an administrator he can still maintain his NOLA High School ties until such time that takes another job. If he doesn't take another job, he will get to continue learning the nuances of what it takes to recruit and coach at a high pressure top college and be ready should he be needed again on the field. He obviously does have a higher affinity for both Ensminger and Jenkins. Jenkins I feel is a short time stop gap replacement. I do feel like he will be replaced either after Spring or soon after the Season which to allow a recruiting DL coach to come in and help with next years class. Ensminger may have more latitude and it will be interesting to see how he is handled. I also think firing 4 coaches this week with spring practice nearing would have put LSU behind in preparations for next year. Having some continuity is important as LSU will not have near as many returning starters this year as last year.
Did he say he didn't want the job asked or turned down the job or he hadn't been approached... saying I am not a candidate for the job at LSU is like saying "I did not have sexual relations with that young lady" (of course this comes off better if you insert your best Bill Clinton voice)

I thought it wasn't politically correct to say "Build a Wall"...

re: Chris Allen wavering?

It would be super cool if Coach O pulled a fast one and made Allen a double agent.... Saban thinks he is trolling us for him while solidly committed but O has him locked down, so the evil empire loses out at the last minute... probably not but would be entertaining to watch the bama boards afterwards...
