re: Possible Move to Midland, TX

San Angelo is the closest place with a lake. 1 1/2-2 hour drive. Lots of people have places in the Texas hill country. Granbury and Horseshoe Bay are real popular too.

Moved to Midland from BR in 2002. Just moved to TN last year. Midland is a great place to make money and raise kids. Good food. HEB is the best grocery store, period. Midland is dry, hot, and windy all of the time. The water is undrinkable. You can’t even wash your car with it. There’s not a lot to do. Everyone around there has lake houses or ranches somewhere else and takes off on the weekends. People are good. Traffic is stupid for such a small place. Property taxes are ridiculous. The people and business opportunities are what kept us there for so long. Now I just do everything remotely and fly in for meetings.

Moved here from Baton Rouge 21 years ago. Completely different place from when I first got here. Rent and housing prices are insane for such a desolate area. Nothing to do. It hasn’t rained in 8 months. There are some good people here. Excellent Mexican food and 2 HEBs. Bass Pro just announced they’ll be here next year. Article seems misleading. Nothing has really changed around here. Can’t find good help anywhere. Lots of people with money so that their kids don’t need jobs while in high school. Been stuck here a while. Hoping to head somewhere with some water and trees soon.

This is what helps me. I started running again 3 weeks ago and did 10 miles this week. It feels like cheating. Never winded.

We have a few long haired mini dachshunds. Their temperament is way better than the short hair. Way more chill.
re: Midland (TX) Police Officer killed by man who thought his home was being burglarized
Posted by midlandtexastiger on 3/7/19 at 9:13 am to theunknownknight
From what I understand, they responded to an alarm, checked the perimeter, noticed the door was unlocked, announced their presence several times, and entered the home. The homeowner shot in the direction of the flashlight being shined at him. The shot landed above his vest and he died shortly after. What surprises me, is that the police did not return fire, and we have a pretty trigger happy force around here.

Yeah. It’s a sad deal. First officer death on duty in like 60 years over here. Apparently the police were responding to an alarm. The house he walked into is worth well over a million. Not like this happened in the ghetto.
re: How do you deal with hemorrhoids?

NATTOKINASE. I had a horrible thrombosed that hurt worse than anything I’ve ever felt. This stuff knocked it down within a few hours and made it disappear within 24 hours.

Same here. I think she lived in Monticello. I lived in Shamrock Gardens.
Waiting for game day to buy tickets.

Anyone waiting until game day to get tickets? That’s been my plan to get a better price, but I’m starting to question if it’s going to work. I don’t want to end up with crap seats at a better price.

We took I10 to 85 to 293 a few weeks ago. Very little traffic.
