re: LSU vs UCF: Biggest bowl game in all of CFB the last few years

I think it is opposite they show up but like Clemson game a few years back they were out coaches. They played hard last year against ND but made critical coverage mistakes that cost them game and as usual were lacking a QB that gave them firepower. I think they are going to be fire up because of National exposure for U F and Ogeron wants to end on a high note for recruiting purposes. What makes game intriguing is UCF is lacking on Def and Tigers are lacking in this dept...while UCF has an offense that looks like it can keep up with big boys and LSU has a big boy Def
It's more about match ups. FLORIDA and A&M both have TE's that are good receivers and more feature positions at WR so LSU was unable to blitz Db's such as Delpit because they would get exposed with cover match ups. Just like in OT against Aggies. Line was playing contain to prevent QB from running and man to man because they dont have personal to match up. Some said blitz and that leaves disadvantaged Def matchup...some said double team again leaves matchups to Offense advantage
The reason for running it was because it was Auburn. 10 point underdog and Offense was stalled. Les was very successful catching teams off guard to give an edge. Tigers loaded with talent but very inexperienced. Receiver was wide open just over threw him. If it works they are geniuses.
Think it has more to do with where QB feels comfortable throwing the ball. Jefferson is his go to guy.

O coordinator holding team back? When Ensminger took over during Miles firing the offense improved dramatically. Inexperience across the board on offense and managing it as best as possible is sign of good coach. QB very green but tons of potential, WR's inexperience evident "having tough time getting separation, O LINE playing good but you have to tailor plays to suit their weaknesses and inconsistencies. IAt this point Ensmingers experience paying dividends. Notice he left TE in to block in order to compensate for weak line.

Improving with each game. WR's inexperience plays a part in development. WR's having trouble getting seperation. That will come with playing time. GEAUX JEAUX. :geauxtigers:
I think it's a little early to critique this coaching staff. Whether you want to believe it are not Ogeron was forced to hire an Ocoordinator and Kiffin was who he wanted, he had to settle for Canada. He also took a job that has them thin on on both sides of the ball on the line. He may not pan out but it's still early to tell about staff. Everyone thought Texas new coach would set the world on fire and it didn't happen. This season will tell the story, especially with all the inexperience on both sides of the ball and QB issues as usual not to mention a brutal schedule unlike BAMA's cake walk schedule. Even Saban would struggle facing LSU's opponenets this coming season.

Georgia and Alabama had no problem doing it. I understand where you're coming from but Brennan looked like a deer in the headlights and he was the back up. His first game he couldn't remember to put his mouthpiece in and the next game he played he didn't have the awareness to realize it was fourth down after running on 3rd and 14. Say what you want but with his pedigree he should have shown a little better than he did. He hasn't separated himself from the other QB's in spring which should concern the coaches and fans.
WOW...Sumlin 1-0 (Didn't hurt that He had Johhnie football football and had played LSU the week before)
Les beat Saban back to back 2010 - 2011 very rare Saban loses two back to back
Ole Miss Is looking good this year since beating Bama
Head up record against Saban 5-5
If Tigers beat Bama next year we will see everyone back on Les Bandwagon

Seriously....have you ever watched Hogs play besides LSU game? They blew three games on stupid coaching mistakes. They basically run same Offense as LSU but have a better QB. Next year if Les gets to playoffs with the young talent he recruited everyone will be jumping back on the bandwagon. Dissapointing how wishy washy LSU fans are. Ask Tenn fans how firing Fulmer worked out for them. Geez Ark goes 17 straight without win they beat Tigers and coach is superstar...WOW!

And Oregon still lost and RG III didn't play in Natl Champ...I recall we played in Natl Champ. Les has been to two. I agree Tigers haven't hit on QB in awhile. I have a feeling Harris will step up next year.
re: Wrong offense or wrong type of QB?

You hit it on the head ...couldn't have said it more accurately. For some reason Bama can't recruit prmier kikers and we struggle with QB's
I'm 53 and I can tell you that the conference is far tougher than it was when Charlie McClendon was coaching. I think Tiger fans are spoiled especially the younger generation. For some reason LSU fans think we were a big powerhouse. When Billy Cannon played maybe. Les has gotten Tigers to two Natl Champ. Look around how many coaches besides Saban have played in one little less two Natl Champ.
Man you hit the nail on the head...I have some nieces and nephews who have grown up LSU's recent Golden years and I have to remind them that an 8 win season was satisfactory just a few years back. Les is really hammered because of the three back to back losses to Alabama. He has had success agains Alabama until recently. FanATICS at LSU have became spoiled. Enjoy it while it last. GEAUX TIGERS!
