Jackie sherrill had brought this back in 83 and used it for all home games during his tenure. Rc slocum did away with it. Good to see it back but I’d like to see it for all kickoffs.

Slocum did not do away with it. He modified it from "all walk-on" to "one walk-on" on the kickoff team.

As an aside, I was a student when Sherrill did this, and it was not particularly popular. A LOT of us thought that it was a stunt which demonstrated his lack of understanding of the concept the 12th Man ... that it is not about GETTING onto the field, but rather about being READY to serve if NEEDED. But most of us eventually came around.

It’s always fun to laugh and pick on A&M but that’s actually really cool.

I almost posted the same thing yesterday. That was pretty neat…a Rudy moment. We need to check though, were they offsides like he was? Lol!

No diversity on the walk on squad? Wonder why...

Good for those kids. That’s what sports is all about.

That says a whole lot about how Jimbo recruited

How exactly? Because the walk ons that never play had a good outcome in garbage time vs an FCS team?

No one cares.

I care. It was a great moment for those men. They had a second chance too, but the kicker sent the kickoff out of bounds.

I think you might care a little more than the guy who didn’t click on the story and comment.
