What does “common sense” mean in this context? Ignoring all the rules?

Refs always make the game about themselves.

This isn’t about the officials it’s about the teams and the personnel running on the field before the game was over. Theres no drama if they just go back to the sidelines and finish the game like they are supposed to do.

We don't enforce laws anymore. Why is it necessary to enforce rules in football?

Sean, this isn't about tv drama (it really is) and better entertainment (it absolutely is!). The frustrating problems with the game's ending are all about the many, MANY letigious, lawyer-like rules (football laws) in the rulebook.

Everyone else notice how the "playoff" games officiating was noticeably missing penalty calls?

If you want to have a discussion regarding the current rules, thats a different conversation. But for this particular conversation, you have to go by the CURRENT rules that state you must play the entire game out, and run the clock according to the rules. If you dont put that last second on the clock, then UGA could file a huge lawsuit that officials didnt allow them a fair chance to use all of the game time allotted to teams. The officials did everything by the book which is what they shouldve done.
