Troubling news emerged Thursday morning regarding former SEC QB Chris Smelley, who went missing in the Gulf of Mexico. The Walton County Sheriff's Office announced that he had not been seen since going fishing in a blue and black kayak earlier this morning. WCSO officers and South Walton Fire District attempted to locate Smelley with jets skis in the water near the beach he'd left from.The United States Coast Guard was brought into the search and after hours of looking for the former South Carolina QB they finally found him....

i read the seas were calm, but the wind was making it difficult for people to row into shore - sounds like the wind blew him out to sea - was found 2.5 miles out.
