Would you recommend a stroller for a 6 and 7 year old at Disney?

We're thinking of renting one of those 3rd party deals, but I'm afraid the kids wouldn't take to a stroller

Yes, there is a lot of walking, the stroller gives the ability to reset between rides. We just rented directly from Disney

This seems a bit old for a stroller to me, but I like to wear the kids out so they sleep good.

Not at that age for us. We stay close enough to the parks and are fine with resting back at the room if needing a longer break. Otherwise, keeping this kid on his/her feet and moving around wears them out which is nice later in the day if you don't have a whiny brat. And I've learned that even those kids figure it out after the first day or two. They'll want more rests, enjoy more shows/rides that don't require longer lines, etc.

I was worried they wouldn't want to ride in it because to them it's babyish...hate to be stuck with a damn stroller you paid 200 bucks to rent

Are you flying? Do you still have one?
Most airlines let you check one for free at the gate. If you're unsure about spending the money, have one with you that's free and if you end up needing/wanting it, you have it. It's never been a hassle for us through the airports. And that may be way less annoying than renting one and carrying it around (buses) when you don't need it.

They aren’t that expensive. We paid under $100 for a six day trip recently.
Pro: have a place for kids to sit and rest and having a place to store things while you’re walking
Con: every time you stop to do an attraction, you have to find a place to park it which is tedious. Also, bringing it on the bus/monorail is a chore.

We rented ones until my daughters were around 8, they are old enough to walk. But, it is a lot of walking and a kid tiring out will lead to them becoming whiney and wanting to be held. So, the pain of the stroller was well worth it since it allowed us to keep the kids out longer and not have to carry them. We rented from one of the Orlando stroller places and they delivered to the resort and we left it there before heading back to the airport.

You can rent the ones at the parks. They are just fine. You can get by without them at Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios until Galaxies Edge opens.
If you are staying on site you can take a break mid day and let everyone get a nap in. That is really handy for kids

No. We went with a 9 & 5 year old in March & they walked 54 miles with us that week.
I know I'm in the minority, but I think strollers should banned from Disney World.

You didn’t know that?

Magic Kingdom - 107 acres
Epcot - 305 acres
Disney's Hollywood Studios - 135 acres
Disney's Animal Kingdom - 410 acres (500 including parking lots)
This was prior to avatar which is a small expansion on space. Obviously, much of that is the safari, but the truth is that there’s so much walking in AK because of the design. Winding walkways spaced out to keep you feeling like you’re in each country/region.

More than likely, yes I would at that age. Our first stroller-less trip was when our daughter had just turned 8 and she did okay. Without a stroller at that age I would definitely I planned a mid day break and no more than 4 (MAYBE 5) hours in a park without a break somewhere.

If your kids st that age need a stroller, don’t take them to Disney- you’ll regret it. Last time we rented a stroller my youngest was 4 and he was in it maybe 15% of the time. It’ll just slow you down. Finding a place to park it, going to find it after they rearrange them, trying to keep them dry during thunderstorms, getting them in and off the bus... you get my drift.
Save the money for beer in Epcot- when they get tired find a bench.

Have you ever actually been to Disneyworld?
It is far easier to maneuver through AK than MK. Despite your ludicrous assertion than it’s much worse walking AK.
You can do AK in half a day with zero difficulty.

I’ve been at least 20 times. I’ve run the marathon 4 times which goes through all of the parks. I’m not making an assertion. It’s a fact that AK is bigger, a full day park especially now with avatar, and requires much more walking due to the layout, winding walkways and size. I honestly hope you are trolling at this point. Because if you are serious, it’s one of the most obviously dumb takes about Disney I’ve ever heard.
ETA: And just to make my point clearer, each land in MK has quick access to each land next to it as well as easy access back to the hub to cross the park. If that’s not enough, there’s a fricking train that will take you around to the other side. AK has some areas where you have to go back to the hub first, a hub that is very large with no straight-line access anywhere.
