I have one night in Chattanooga with the wife next weekend and I was hoping to get some suggestions on where to stay.

There are a couple newish boutique hotels downtown that are supposedly really nice.

The Moxy, the Edwin are a couple

Or you can stay in one of the converted rail cars at the Choo Choo.

Downtown Chattanooga is really small though so anywhere you stay is walkable or a quick Uber to anywhere you'd want to go.

Don't stay at the chattanoogan though. They have had a string of break-ins lately in their attached parking garage.

We like the Chattanooga Choo-Choo when there with the kids. They loved staying in the old rail cars.

I am guessing downtown is the place to stay? Is it worth trying to stay by the river?

The Edwin in the "art district" right by the river and the walking bridge to the northshore.

Check that place out if you want right by the river.

Terminal Brewhouse

It's literally across the street. I remember the pizza and burgers being good.

You will be close to the up and coming south side.

HiFi Clyde's is walkable and has good food/drinks/atmosphere.

State of confusion is a newish bar on main Street that is walkable.

Stir is literally next door and would be good for a sit down dinner.

There is also a bunch of good breweries within a long walk/short Uber: Hutton and Smith, oddstory, heaven and ale, Chattanooga brewing company, etc...

Clumpies is an icecream shop across the street from the choo-choo and is bomb.com. the hot chocolatier (so) is also near there and really good for homemade hot chocolate on a cold night.

Chattanooga whisky distillery is also across the street. They do tasting tours and actually make a really good whisky.

Also, if you are into those escape rooms, Escape Experience Chattanooga is walkable from the choo-choo and was a top 25 escape company in the country a few years ago. Their rooms are really good.

The terminal is good, but you're better off going to Clyde's if you want bar food.

I've always heard The Dwell is a fun stay as well. Boutique hipstery hotel, close to some of the breweries and pubs.

They do an escape room in the train cars at the choo choo now too, it was a pretty good room. Had a lot of variety in the puzzles.

Yeah, it was ok. If they're going to do one though, I'd recommend vaccine.

Springhill Suites on the TN River is an awesome hotel. New, extremely quiet, easy parking and right on the river. Somewhat off the beaten path but walkable to many downtown locations. Has a great walking path sidewalk right in front. LINK

I stayed there for a night once. It's indeed interesting and hipstery. Rather odd setup and nothing really directly around it. I liked it okay, but not sure I'd stay again.

The bunker was the most immersive and impressive escape room I’ve ever done, and I’ve done 50+.

The Choo Choo is a dump. Don’t waste your time.

There are several hotels within a block or two of the aquarium/riverfront area where I’ve stayed before. Marriot, holiday inn, doubletree, etc... All of them are nice, reasonably priced hotels within walking distance of good restaurants and attractions. The Edwin has been suggested. It’s a nice, new hotel, but you will pay to stay there for sure. There are several threads on here about restaurants too. Lots of good food options in Chattanooga.

I appreciate all of the info we couldn’t get a train car so it looks like we will stay at the Westin. I googled and there was a 2017 thread that listed a bunch of good places to eat.

How is the whiskey distillery and is the whiskey worth buying?

Took the kids in March, does not look like it's been updated since I went with my folks 30 years ago. Dont go on a cold night, the heater didnt work so they gave us floor space heaters to put on a carpet in the kids room with only one exit all the way on the other side of the car. Really was a total nightmare of a night.
