Friends,

I need to get out of town for a few days. I'd like for you to decide where I go. I would like it to be within 6 or so hours of New Orleans. I don't like going west. I don't like going north. In honesty, I don't like going east. I also don't like crossing bridges. I like things that most people do not like. In particular, I like ghost towns, street signs, and pizza. Besides the family compound in Mississippi, I haven't done much traveling in Mississippi. Please help me choose my next destination. I will try to document it as I did with TulaneLSU's guide to Auburn University and its environs.

Yours,
TulaneLSU

Greenville MS and the nearby Mississippi delta towns. Bet you could give us a great trip review of this area.

Per your criteria, Top 10 street signs in Grand Isle. No need to document. We won’t be upset.

Tell us what you dislike about going east, north, or west? I have some ideas but a little context might help.

How about a trip from New Orleans to Memphis but not using the interstate; follow the river and review the river towns.

Friend,
Have you considered a jaunt on the Amtrak from Nola to San Antone? You can ride a boat on The Riverwalk when you arrive. You would not have to drive and can close your eyes over any bridges. Enjoy seeing the road from a different perspective.
