Headed to Houma this evening for daughters dance something. Think will be just me wide and daughter. No pics. Be there Friday and sat nights. Anything me and the wife can go do while the daughter is at her dance thing? It’s some kinda convention where they learning not performing much so think we will be mainly dropping her off and can back and forth doing whatever. Decent places to go eat?

Not sure. Really didn’t think it was big enough for east west to matter? Can drive wherever.

What about the waterlife museum? Thought I had heard of a Houma zoo or exotic animal park or something like that before? Mainly looking for daytime stuff while daughter is at dance. Night time will have her with us so evening after dark has to be kid friendly

East Houma is sort of the hood if I remember correctly. Been a long time since I’ve been down there, but The Shack was always good for seafood. Cristiano’s(I think that’s the name)was also very good.

Houma actually used to have a really nice Italian restaurant. Grand piano in the corner type place.
Edit: Milano.

Boudreaux and Thibodaux is a popular local food place
I have no clue about a zoo or anything like that in Houma.... shite, the best advice is to hole up somewhere and eat and drink while watching whichever sports are on TV. They have some cheap dive bars that you can walk in and spend 3+ hours and walk out spending less than 30 bucks

The Waterlife Museum is worth a short visit. Southdown plantation, too, but it appears to be closed on weekends right now. Melvins, a restaurant on the Intracoastal waterway has some tables overlooking the canal where you could easily while away a few hours on a nice spring day.
Thibodaux isn’t that far away, and you could visit the Wetlands Acadian center, which is a branch of the Jean Lafitte National Park. Laurel Valley, on LA 308, has a collection of farm buildings and implements and an old plantation store, if you’re into agrarian/plantation stuff.

You can tour Ardoyne Plantation, the Southdown Plantation museum, the Waterlife musuem, or the military museum on Barrow Street (down the street from the civic center). The nicer restaurants are Christiano's and Milano but I'd recommend Cajun Critters for casual seafood with outdoor dining.

Stay out of east Houma.
At Cajun Critters right now. Fried catfish, shrimp and boiled crawfish. Onion rings are legit.

Houma sucks from a tourism standpoint.
The Bayou Little Caillou LA 24 Bridge (built in 1941) is kinda nice this time of year...
