Universal Studios trip
Taking my 3 kids, 10, 7, 5. We got the fast pass. Finishing Harry Potter, so that’s why we are going to Universal. Any pointers on what to do? I’m concerned the rides could be too much for my youngest. Should we take an extra day to go to Legoland for the little guy? We have 4 full days in Orlando, and we will do Disney another time.

re: Universal Studios trip
Been awhile since I’ve gone. I remember one day being plenty enough for Universal and Legoland.

Depend on how fast you go and how many times you want to ride each ride. I assume you have a park to park pass. You can do two parks in one day if you wanted or could take your time and do one per day. 4 days may be a little too much unless you really want to spend a lot of time there. Some rides still do not have fast pass like Hagrids so you have to wait regardless. Also depends on when you go. If it’s during a time that the Orlando kids are out of school then it will be very busy. They have actually been hitting capacity due to covid on the weekends. That means you don’t get to enter at all.

Harry Potter world is the coolest shot I’ve ever seen at a theme park and I’m not a potter fan. Get ready to spend 60 bucks on a magic wand. The good news is when you leave the park, it turns into a stick.

5 may be too young for most stuff, save the Suess area. King Kong ride was the tits.

Some rides are way more family friendly than others... take time for diagon alley... dr Seuss land is good for the young ones... there are plenty of things to do around Orlando... Wonderworks is cool, especially for kids that age... has lazer tag and an arcade too

With the express pass and a small one who may not be up to the task on the big thrill rides, you’re going to have plenty of down time. Is definitely suggest finding other stuff to do (legoland, disney springs, too golf, etc)

Three days is plenty

re: Universal Studios trip
We just spent a few days doing Disney/Universal. My 5 year old rode everything she was able to including all the Harry Potter stuff & loved it. I was nervous on the new Hagrid ride but she loved it and said it was her favorite. She was afraid of the Mummy ride, said it was scary. We didn’t get a chance to do the Transformers & she wasn’t tall enough for the Hulk coaster.

We only spent 1 day at Universal doing both parks. It was on a Monday and the weather was terrible so lines weren’t bad at all. The longest we waited was about 20-30 mins for the Hagrid ride. I would suggest bringing a change of clothes for Island Adventure side. We got soaked on the water rides over there. The parks also closed at 6 that day so that’s something to keep in mind- I believe they stay open later on the weekends.
