So looking to do a trip this Oct. down south somewhere, thinking an all inclusive but not sure where to go.

Wouldn't mind going to Belize or somewhere similar but one of the islands will do.

Tia.

Go to San Ignacio Resort, Belize. Definitely do the ATM Cave (unless wife is not adventurous). Also Cave tubing and ziplining is a blast.

We are looking into Belize/Ambergris Caye for this summer. It looks awesome. There are a few reviews in the stickied thread.

Turks and Caicos was one of my favorite places to go. Grace Bay is the prettiest place I have been.

Did our honeymoon at Secrets Riviera south of Cancun and had a good time too. Lots of places to choose from.

+1

The ATM Cave isn't strenuous, but you better not mind walking through waist deep dark water in a cave. I loved it. One of the best tours I've done anywhere. Be ready to scramble up rocks in the dark.

Spend half your trip in San Ignacio doing the adventure, jungle stuff. Then go to Ambergris Caye for 2-3 days of beaching and snorkeling.

Rainy, hurricane, and low season. I’ve been in the Caribbean during that time for work and it’s hit or miss. Some places drastically reduce hours of operation or close all together from July to beginning of November. That could be different this year given increased demand for people from the US to just go anywhere close that they can get to at any time.

My buddy got married in Ambergris Caye, Belize, in mid November a few years ago. It never rained, but 3 of 5 days we were there were heavy clouds with not much sun.

One good thing about low season is reduced rates for hotels and less people around all together. Some good deals to be had.

I've been in June during the rainy season and it rained a ton. I would not go to Belize during rainy season. At least on the islands if you get some rain it can change quickly.

Providenciales, T&C is a wonderful island. Incredible beaches and some great restaurants. Belize is a place I've checked off the list and won't go back to.

Same. Too many better options out there IMO.

Did my honeymoon in Belize in September (close enough). No issues. We did two all inclusives. Copal Tree Lodge all the way in the south. Was great, they grow most of the food they serve, and distil their own rum. Really cool eco resort in the jungle. Then we did a week on cocoplum island which was amazing. We can't wait to go back.

So my thought has always been that Mexico and the islands were always a bit lower on the class scale.

You would disagree? What are some other options in general that are better than Belize?

Did you have good cell service out there? AT&T?

The British and former British islands for the most part are at the higher end of the scale. The exception for me is Jamaica. The USVI and St. Barths and some others are also higher end islands. There are a lot of really nice, really safe islands.

ETA: Areas of Mexico are great. Isla Mujeres and Holbox come to mind. I'm not a huge fan of Cabo because it feels like I'm in the US but a lot of people love it.
