Good luck getting them back to economy in the future!
Yeah, my daughter (7 or 8 at the time) was disappointed the plane she was sitting in, in business, didn’t have an upper deck in the way back from CDG. Just a lowly 772, as opposed to the A380 on the way out.
I wish more of the posters would pay attention to how H20 did this with a sub one year old, and it was fine. OMG we can’t fly to Chicago with a baby from New Orleans!

He loved every bit of it! Granted he was in Business Class the whole way.

I've been to that Popeye's in the Istanbul airport on a long layover. Not good, but scratched the itch!

I went to the Galataport Popeyes in Karakoy, they have them all over!

HKG had one a while back before they remodeled. Remember grabbing some chicken, fries, and a biscuit before flying out.

Hilton Mall of Istanbul
We ended up at this hotel by chance for what was essentially a day time stay. After Air France cancelled our flight and rebooked us on Emirates 12+ hours later, we headed to the Hilton Mall of Istanbul to wait out our delay.
This property appears to be frequented by travelers heading to or from the new Istanbul Airport as well as locals going on shopping trips to the attached Mall of Istanbul. This isn’t a place than many tourists visiting the city will choose to stay given its location on the outskirts of the city.
I appreciated our upgrade to a suite, though the layout was somewhat quirky, and the staff was friendly and attentive in our limited interactions. I wouldn’t stay at this property again, specifically due to the location. It appears to be popular with flight crews as it is one of the closest full service airports to Istanbul Airport, though it is still a 25 minute drive away.

I assume they allow lap kids in business/ first class?
Interesting update to this: Emirates just now banned kids under 8 from sitting in first class via mileage award or upgrade. Kids could still presumably sit in F on a paid ticket.

The local families in Dubai would lose their minds if they couldn't bring their kids into First.

IGA Lounge Istanbul
While this isn’t a top tier lounge, as far as contract lounges go things don’t get much better than the IGA Lounge in Istanbul. The space has plenty of seating and space to spread out, allowing passengers the opportunity to rest and recharge before their flight.
On my next trip through Istanbul I’m hoping to visit the Turkish Airlines lounge but, I would happily visit this lounge again in the future.

FlyDubai Boeing 737-800 Business Class (IST-DXB)
While our trip with FlyDubai was unexpected, we had a great time on the airline. For a narrowbody, the seats are very comfortable but, on routes like Istanbul-Dubai that are served by both Emirates and FlyDubai, you’re better off with the former.
What ultimately made this flight so wonderful was the crew and how they interacted with our 10 month old. They went above and beyond to make his trip as enjoyable as possible and I would happily fly with FlyDubai and this crew again.

Emirates Business Class Lounge Dubai (DXB) Terminal 3A
The Emirates Business Class Lounge in Terminal 3 Concourse A at Dubai International Airport (DXB) is a massive space with plenty of amenities for passengers during a long layover. While the lounge isn’t cutting edge and could probably use a refresh, it was well maintained and had a decent food and beverage selection available. I’ll gladly visit the lounge again on my next trip through Dubai.

Emirates Boeing 777-300ER Business Class (DXB-DFW)
All-in-all we had a great flight in Emirates Business Class. While an unexpected adventure, I’m glad that I was finally able to experience the airline and its new Business Class seat. The service from the crew was absolutely fantastic but I found the seat to be somewhat disappointing.
Given the fact that this is a brand new product on the airline’s Boeing 777s, I would have liked to have seen them add a privacy door, something that is becoming common in most long-haul Business Class cabins.
I will absolutely fly with the carrier again as I still need to try out the A380, Emirates First Class, and the infamous onboard bar, but I wouldn’t mind another flight on the refreshed Boeing 777s.

Great report, H2O. And yes the A380 with bar is a flight worth seeking out.

Thanks! I've got another one on deck that I just started on from our Japan trip.
The Emirates A380 is definitely on my aspirational list.
