We did talk with a couple who stayed in San Juan (but did a similar itinerary than us otherwise) and they mentioned that they'd wish they'd skip San Juan and that it was the only time they felt unsafe.

Haha I appreciate that. I would love to do something like that - more so the planning side before the trip, that’s what I really enjoy doing.
I always bring a laptop with us on “bigger” trips to keep up with our day to day, likes/dislikes, misc. thoughts and I’ll send that to friends/family if they happen to go to the same place(s) that we’ve been.
That’s basically what this is - I just cleaned it up some and added pictures.

Looks like a great trip! My wife and I went to Quepos and Manuel Antonio area for our honeymoon 21 years ago. Love CR. Heading there this weekend.
