Anyone ever been? Is it worth a few days stay for a quick get-a-way? Anything to do off the resort?

Went for our anniversary a couple years ago. 2 nights is more than enough time to do everything there & downtown Fairhope.

Did a kids free weekend a year or two ago. Nice place, decent in house restaurants, nice bar. Downtown fairhope isn’t far away and that area is nice. But, like other poster said 2 days is plenty. We did 3 days and was a little bored toward the end of the stay.

I'm a big fan. It's one of the nicer resorts along the gulf coast, so when I only have two or three nights, we like to go there for a break.

The pool is top notch, there is great golf and tennis. Water sports are cool and they give free bike rentals to ride the bike path.

They just completed a massive renovation and I hear it was done very well. Added and refurbed their restaurants and bars. Added nice outdoor seating with fire pits. Added cabana like set up down by the beach and offer drink service now.

Be prepared for price shock depending on when you go.

I've always enjoyed going, but I just got back from a trip, and the hotel is still under renovation. All the restaurants are closed except the lounge and poolside grill (where they currently host most of their meals). If you want the true experience, I would wait until construction is finished.

I go at least twice a year. It has been under construction for a while, but I think it is phasing out. We usually stay in the spa building and that had been redone when we were there for Easter. I think my wife just booked another trip there today for Labor Day weekend and the main building is good to go now.

It's absolutely worth the get-a-way. Especially if you have kids. There is a little beach and the pool area is awesome. They have a nice fishing pier (with cane poles and shrimp ready to go), a bike trail and free bikes, kayaks, small sail boats, and tons of activities.

Off the resort, downtown Fairhope is nice and quaint. There is good shopping and decent eating. It's a sleepy town, so don't expect to be partying hard.

Has anyone ever been there for New Years? Looks to be fairly reasonable at $265/night for 12/30-1/1 on TripAdvisor.

Don’t know much about it honestly but my Grandpa told me a story about staying there in the 80’s and having a drink outside looking over Mobile bay and talking about what a great view it was when the gentleman he was talking to agreed but said the first time he was there it was from the water. He was an older man who said he was in a German U-boat that patrolled the gulf coast including Mobile bay during WW2.
