Headed to Athens (and other islands, then Italy) in less than two weeks. Cannot wait.
Awesome. This is probably the best time to go. Y’all will have a blast. Just you and the wife ?

Yep. 2 1/2 weeks off work and just relaxing on boats and beaches. Cannot wait. Truly trying to not mentally check out of work between now and then.

This was more what I was thinking, hopping around to different towns
Santorini was amazing don’t get me wrong but it was VERY crowded around Oia. We did a Caldera sunset cruise booked thru Viator and it was outstanding. I would highly recommend staying in Imerovigli which is beautiful and not as busy but still a quick drive (or hike) over to Oia . I liked Naxos better. More laid back. Easy to drive around and find parking. Beautiful beaches and some great hikes. It’s a much larger island and had more of an authentic Greek vibe. Both islands were amazing in their own way.
In Santorini we stayed at a place called Absolute Bliss and in Naxos we stayed at Avgoustos Suites. You should give them a google. Wife says I knocked the lodging outta the park. Both places were just perfect and very reasonable for how nice they were.

That’s gonna be a dream. I just have LSU football trips to look forward to until we go skiing in Canada in December so I’m jealous. I’m pretty sure I was checked out of work mentally for damn near a month before we left for Greece.

We’re going to Iceland in 2 months and driving the entire ring road over 10 days.
That's going to be awesome, as long as there's not too much early snow. I drove the Ring Road in 9 days in May of 2016, and there was still a snowstorm that slowed me down to about 15 mph.

SA (Argentina/Chile)
As people said, if you're going in our summer, that's their winter. If you want to ski, that could be a really great trip, but it doesn't work for hiking in Patagonia, seeing penguins on an island near Ushuaia, exploring the lake district in Chile, etc. -- all of which are great.
But our summer is a great time for Peru. I spent 17 days traveling in Peru in the summer of 2017, and it was awesome.

Turning 30 this year and itching for another big vacation but need recommendations on where to go next summer. Leaning Europe but also open to South America, Asia is a distant third (just went). The only place I'd rather not see again is Italy, spent a good bit of time there a few years ago. I would rather not stick in one city but be able to move around, would like to see the tourist sights but also looking for a good time.
Going alone? Married?

Throw us a bone around what types of things you’re interested in. Do you want to backpack, camp, eat, ski, sun, hike?
Do you like mountains, the beach, busy cities, laid-back fishing towns???
If you are looking for a great hub, staying in Singapore is awesome. The city/country itself is amazing and you are just a few hours plane ride away from so many incredible destinations.

Envisioning more of a eat, sun, drink, relax type trip.

Bad answer but all of the above which is why I like to move around to multiple cities. Thinking more laid back for this one.
Was looking at the Greek islands last night and that may have jumped into the lead. Going to do more research into Southern France and Spain area this week, I've heard great things about Barcelona and St. Tropez

You could also look at doing the Dalmation coast in Croatia.
Barcelona is also a good time along with Lisbon
