Yesterday was brutal, walked like 9 miles. But Central Park, Museum Nat History, Empire State, Chinatown and Littke Italy are checked off

Subway was empty Friday but packed packed yesterday. May Uber but giving up the free ride is tough.

Really enjoyed Empire St and Littke Italy. Nat History was kinda ho hum but we were just in DC w the Smithsonian there.

Yankees at 1:35. Play it by ear from there

Sunday was brunch then Yankees game then on to Chelsea Market and Pier 57. Stopped for slices of pizza on the way.

This morning Today show thing which was a bust because of picket line out front. Lunch at a deli now headed to airport.

Hope you had a good time. The Saturday schedule sounded kind of brutal.

Unfortunately, you experienced the letdown of the Natural History Museum. The building and neighborhood are beautiful, but the exhibits are long overdue for an upgrade, and I can see how they pale in comparison to the Smithsonian.

How was the Yankees game? It's been a few years since I've been to a game. May need to see one again soon.

Yankees game was good. Weather was warm but absolutely beautiful. Stadium is not full of as many amenities as some but it has beer and hot dogs and peanuts. Played the Royals, so there was about 2/3 full crowd maybe. But even when the Yankees blew it open in the 8th there were no people leaving.

My wife’s cousin is Ron Guidry, so that was cool seeing some of his gear.

I’ve been running around NYC this week too.

We give blue states and big cities a lot of crap for everything they do wrong, but there is a frick ton of stuff they do right.

The logistics of keeping this place running are mind boggling. The level they’ve dummy proofed the subway down to, and using google maps, is amazing.

As silly as this sounds, I was nervous of the subway, but terrified of the bus. We stuck to the uptown downtown subway rides. Did grab a couple taxis later in the evening and they were very affordable. We never left Manhattan except a quick run over to Brooklyn, so I probably saw about 20% of the cool stuff.

I dont konw that I will go back. I really enjoyed it, especially the first couple of nights. There is just so much else in this nation and world I would like to see that I cant justify it.

Skip the Yankees game and Statue of Liberty!

Go to YouTube and watch Here Be Barr:

Walk the Highline and go to The Grand Central Oyster Bar and get the clam chowder.

Bumping this thread.

Planning a March 2024 trip for my 10 year old daugther's birthday (wife, 10 year old, and 4 year old girl). Just 2 nights, American Girl Store, Color Museum, Musuem of Natural History, Central Park, Serendipity are all on the list.

Prefer Hyatt properties, what neighborhood is most convinient for this type of trip? Nightlife and best restaurants aren't major consideration.

Fort Tryon Park and the Cloisters is a pretty fun, off-the-beat-path site.

Lotte Palace. Right behind St. Patricks Cathedral. I’d avoid Times Square.
