Last time I was in Rome was about 20 years ago, so I won't be helpful with specifics, but I remember thinking to myself that I could spend a week there just walking the city taking in all of the history outside of the major tourist attractions. There's SO MUCH there to see from centuries and centuries of history. Enjoy it, it really is an amazing place to experience first-hand.

LaSponda might have been our favorite dining experience in that region when we stayed in Positano.
In Rome our favorite meal/experience was at AdHoc.

I honestly wish this wasn’t the case OP, but I’ll give you some things to avoid also.
I never had a good piece of the pre made pizza or sandwiches. Sandwiches weren’t terrible, they just were what they were.
The freshly made sandwiches in Rome and Florence were very good. There’s a a famous place that freshly makes them right next to the Pantheon. The sandwiches in Florence were better, but the Rome ones were good.
There was some great freshly made Neapolitan style pizza all over Rome. The thick pre made Roman style pizza was never that great imo.
