I am going to Destin in a couple of days and Mimmo’s is on our agenda.

My favorite restaurant in the area is Cafe Thirty-A but it is a little drive down Hwy 30A from Destin. I guess we will be going there on my wife’s birthday night because it is her favorite too.

Ate at Soleil last night. It was really good with an excellent view over the water. We had baked oysters and crab cakes for appetizers and the filet French dip and blackened grouper for entrees.

Has anyone been to Bijoux recently? I haven't been there since they moved from the Baytown Wharf. Thinking about going this weekend.

Damn shame that HOA booted 790 out. It was the superior outlet for that property.

What was 790?

We are staying at the Henderson Inn incidentally. Amazing place overall but the restaurant Beach Walk is so so.

It was the restaurant in that space from about 2009-2022. New HOA decided not to renew the lease.

Most owners I've talked to are pissed, as the new operator doesn't do beach chair service or carry a food menu for their kids. The on-site folks feel like they lost a big amenity.

790 relocated a couple miles west on 98, in front of Dick's Sporting Goods. Better venue (less the view, obvs) with parking and more seating. Still the same awesome food.

Oour kids enjoyed the Back Porch. And we were able to get a pretty large table pretty quick. But kids played and we drank on the beach while we waited.

Food is nothing to write home about, but it was a good experience.

We always eat at least once at the Bavarian Wirsthaus in FWB.

If the kids want hibachi, Okinawa is in FWB also and a little better than the one on the beach in Destin.

As far as seafood, most seafood markets such as Gulf Coast Seafood will steam what you buy for free, so bring a cooler and drive your feast back to the condo.

Agree on the Publix subs. Perfect for a day on the boat, or on the beach.

Anyone been to Seagar’s lately? Staying at Westwinds in a couple of weeks and have a reservation there one night. Haven’t been in years.

Ate there last night and it was really good. Highlights were the lobster spring rolls and the fried oyster salad.
