Just got back from a week in St. John with wife and a 5 year old. We rented a place on vrbo with pool and rented a jeep. We went to a different beach everyday. If I had it to do over, I’m not sure I’d change much.

patnuh, are they still requiring COVID test to get on island without quarantine?

Just got back from a week in St. John as well. We took our 8 month old so our outings were limited but I'd go with a house rental as well. Maho Bay is a must for me due to the snorkeling. Guaranteed to see sea turtles at the least. Trunk Bay is the prettiest beach/water IMO. Hawksnest is a great one as well. Cinnamon can be crowded. If you are looking for a nice dinner outing we went to 1864 and it was phenomenal. Skinny Legs for a casual outing. Colombo's smoothies was a great breakfast spot as well. Give them time in the morning though. They run out of a shipping container so their grills take about an hour to heat up in the mornings so do not show up at 8 expecting food.

We’re looking to rent a hobie cat for the day. Any suggestions?
I called Cruz Bay Watersports but they only rent to guests at the Westin & Ritz.

How was traveling with the Covid restrictions. Do you still need a negative covid test before going/coming home?

If you were around Crux Bay you likely saw us in a Safari truck with 6 kids and 1 abult in the back, cruzing he hills to the next beach or the next hiking trail. Was a good time!

Anyone have info on Winward Hotel? I'm seeing a variety of reviews
Our reservation was cancelled at Margaitaville due to overbooking and it looks like just about everything has been scooped up for our dates. Not really that mad cause the sargassum looks out of control there anyway.
Any other suggestions on where to stay- looking at a villa at Pleasant Point but we would only be able to do the first 3 nights there so would need somewhere else for 2 nights.

My sister is staying there next month but I wouldn’t stay at the Windward. The reviews are way too bad.
We stayed at Margaritaville and you are correct about the Sargassum, they have stopped trying to clean it up. It’s bad on all the east beaches but the north and west beaches are fine.
Try looking on Airbnb and see if you can find an available room at PP for the week you want.

Think we're gonna end up staying at Flamboyan on the Bay. Not much available on Air BnB OR VRBO.
