In about 2 weeks I'll be heading to Seattle. Will be staying at a hotel near downtown on 2nd ave (between Stewart st and Virginia st).

Will be in the area for at least 3 days. Not renting a car unless I decide to go to Vancouver, BC, which is up in the air, so I'll be hanging out mostly in Seattle and getting around by walking or public transportation.

Looking for some recommendations on things to do, places to see, and good restaurants.

Thanks a lot in advance!

I love walking the waterfront area.

Uwajimaya is a really cool Japanese market.

Queen Anne has great views of the city in the evening. Kerry Park especially.

If the Mariners are in town...T Mobile is a nice ball park.

Do the regular stuff: Space Needle and surrounding museums,
Pike's Place Fish Market and a harbor tour.

I plan on being there during the ASG, so the ball park is definitely on my list.

Din Tai Fung for lunch or dinner. Dumplings are phenomenal.

Perfect. Literally less than a mile from the hotel.

Are there any areas or streets to avoid walking in that area? We will be staying at the Marriott Waterfront and visiting Space Needle/Chihuly then Pikes/Aquarium. Planning to walk both with the kids.

Don’t walk on 3rd street. At all.

These are Airbnb experiences, but I highly recommend the chef's tour of Pike Place Market and this medium-level hike to Snoqualmie Falls (great host). There are also several harbor cruises you can book that are fun.

West Seattle is a hidden gem. Take the ferry over that’s close to the market.
