Holy shite!!!
I've never been to Europe before but Florence has to be the Capital of Smokin' hot women per capita.
A girl like in this image are a dime a dozen here, but they all look exactly alike. Plus, they dress like the girl in the image. That's not lingerie, that's a dress to go out in.
It reminds me of one of the greatest movie scenes from "True Romance", where Christopher Walkens talks to Dennis Hopper. I cannot quote it because of bannable material.

You in Thailand?
I'm going to Bangkok for a couple days, then Luang Prabang, then to Bagan in Myanmar, ending in Yangon (Rangoon) in October. The pic is one I lifted off the web of Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon.
I got great photo opportunities coming up so just trying to get things squared away.
Been to Bangkok before so I'm just drinking and eating the whole time. Staying at Dream Hotel like you did

Beautiful photographs!
We just left Rome Friday afternoon. We started in Venice, then Florence, Siena, Assisi, Orvieto and finally Rome and Tivoli.
While Rome was my least favorite city (too spread out, too many people especially beggars, very dirty, etc) my favorite experience was there.
We were in the Papal audience on Wednesday and got great seats right next to his "popemobile" route through the square. It was an amazing experience.
We traveled with a group with our church priest. We didn't have to wait in lines at most places but the line for security at the Vatican museum was about a 45 minute wait. The Sistine Chapel was packed and very uncomfortable. It was hard to enjoy the beauty while packed in like sardines with very little air flow.
Our priest held mass for us at St. Joseph's altar in St. Peter's Basilica. It was another top moment on this trip.
Enjoy the rest of your trip!

There is a kick arse and super cheap foot massage place on that soi going to the hotel. If you’re coming from the hotel, it’s on the right just before you get to sukhumvit road.

I'm Sicilian so I'm well versed in that scene

Beautiful pictures.
Antique- what is a cheap decent camera for a beginner? I travel quite a bit and I want to learn how to edit my photos. I usually just take photos on my iPhone 7. I am also not very good at editing those on my phone haha. Also, I’d like something very small. I don’t want to carry lenses etc that are large.
Tia!

Whatever camera you get you need to buy Understanding Exposure and learn it. It's a fantastic source for understanding the exposure triangle.

Agreed. St. Peter’s was the most awe inspiring thing I’ve seen in my life. Only the Grand Canyon comes close. I was blown away. And Michaelangelo’s Pieta is the most impressive piece of artwork I’ve ever seen
Skipping St Peter’s is a mistake

Check out Sony A6000 body and Sigma 30mm f2.8 Art lens. I used that combo for majority of pics four years ago on a trip to France and Spain. I also used a Rokinon 12mm f2 lens as a wide angle lens.

Michelangelo's David was quite impressive in person. As for skipping St Peter's, like I said earlier, there are amazing cathedrals all over Rome that get 1% the traffic St Peter's gets, and these cathedrals have amazing artwork. We visited many of these.
I knew the Pope had a special event Wednesday (we even had invites/tickets to it), but I knew there was going to be 50,000 people.
As far as the camera question, I would buy used (I've done it). Like someone said already, learn photography. All cameras take great photos, only photographers take bad photos.

Agreed. But nothing compares to St. Peter’s. My last trip I visited:
Westminster Abbey and St. Paul’s in London
Christ’s Church Cathedral in Dublin
Sagrada Familia in Barcelona
St. Peter’s
St. Mark’s in Venice
Santa Maria Catherdeal in Florence
St. Peter’s put them all to shame. It was a piece of artwork in itself and the sheer scale of the place can not be expressed in words.

Agree.
He's trying to compare a place he didn't go to to smaller places he visited to try to justify skipping it. He has absolutely no point of comparison and is hanging on to a silly reason to justify the skip. He should just admit that maybe, just maybe, he made a mistake.

The reason I skipped it is because I didn't want to spend a 1/2 day on waiting in line.

Book a tour. No line at all. Can do the entire Vatican in 4 hours
Posted on 6/10/18 at 5:12 pm to theantiquetiger
Get there at 7:30 and there will be no line.

There was a tour bus strike on Wednesday so the crowd was 1/2 what it typically is for the Papal Audience. We arrived at 7:30 am and when security opened at 8:00 we got prime seats for seeing the Pope. It was the most amazing experience of my 10 days in Italy. Also, St. Peter's Basilica was amazing. Absolutely incredible.

Geometry wasn’t my specialty, I’m a “grid” thinker. How does the 3rd side of that triangle fit into the picture when using the other 2? Also, what results should you expect when increasing/decreasing any setting along each side?
I like photography and something like this triangle seems like a piece of basic knowledge I need to learn.

That’s why you need to read the book. It’s about finding the perfect balance between all three which varies depending on the photo.

Again, you’re missing the point. You spend a few dollars and you skip all the lines. Common knowledge.

I’m not sure what you are referring to the 3rd side. The higher the ISO, the more sensitive the camera is to light, but also the more grain in the photo. The lower the f stop, the more light that enters the camera when the shutter opens and the slower the shutter speed the more light that enters. Demoending on the camera, keep ISO low if possible
